Rap-Up.com || Lil Wayne Praises Kanye West’s Style, Questions Drake’s Fashion

Lil Wayne may call himself the best rapper alive, but he does not think he’s the most fashionable. That honor goes to another hip-hop heavyweight. “If I had to consider someone the most stylish rapper out there I would definitely say that would be Kanye West,” Weezy told “The Showbiz 411” during the launch of his skate apparel and accessories line TRUKFIT at Macy’s in Los Angeles.

However, he’s not so sure about his Young Money protégé Drake’s style. “I don’t think Drake is a fashion dude,” laughed Tunechi. “He’s way more when it comes to getting dressed, meaning getting dressy. He’s light years ahead of me with that.

“As far as just kicking it, he’s the khakis, the camouflage pants, and some kind of sweater that says something with a bird on it or OVO or Take Care or something.”

Weezy has teamed up with SUPRA for a collection of footwear designs, inspired by him. You’ll be able to walk in Weezy’s shoes when the line hits retailers in early 2013.

First of all, that’s your opinion. Hip-hop is very far from being homogeneous. As for me, he is not the best rapper alive. Being the best means proving it on a regular basis, and his latest effort, Tha Carter IV, was very poorly received. It was lazy, passion-lacking, underwhelming as a whole.

“The Carter 3 sessions” ? You do prove a point: Wayne is past his prime.

He told it himself, though: He never really meant it, he said he was the best because he thought that when you are a rapper, you must thrive to be the best. It’s a way to push the envelope, the competition, and hip-hop in general.

This thing is dead, though. He’s on to new things. Wayne is a very passionate individual, about everything he does, he must feel like he doesn’t have anything to prove anymore, in this rap game.
