Rap-Up.com || Video: Kelly Rowland – ‘Summer Dreaming’

Kelly Rowland soaks up the sun in the feel-good video for “Summer Dreaming.” In honor of Bacardi’s 150th anniversary, the R&B diva has teamed up with the liquor company for a remake of Kate Yanai’s ’90s hit “Summer Dreaming (The Bacardi Song),” which topped the German charts over a decade ago. She shot the colorful clip poolside in Barcelona, rocking some summery fashions and getting behind the DJ booth.

“The story is all about the celebration,” said Kelly, who will perform the song live in Berlin on July 8. “It’s almost like you’re seeing my dream come to life before your eyes and I wake up and I’m like, ‘I’m really dreaming!’”

The 31-year-old singer is putting the finishing touches on her fourth album. “It’s a very urban, R&B, sexy, unexpected record on this next album. It’s gonna make you think. It’s gonna make you wonder,” she said.

@misty, This isn’t R&B but at least she’s light skin in the video. They dont have her as dark as usual. Great lighting. It does take wonders to make Kelly look decent.

I can’t believe how much she has transitioned into such an independent, beautiful, and sexy woman. Only a few years ago people were always comparing her to Beyonce and saying she would never escape her shadow (and I thought that too) but I seriously don’t even think of Beyonce when I see Kelly now. She’s definitely carved out her own lane and I am loving everything that she is doing. I can’t wait for the new album!!!

@Jlo Promo, I think she means Kelly will never be on a pop star level with the likes of Beyonce, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Britney, Kesha, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown etc.

She had that #1 single on the Hot 100 10 years ago (as a featured artist on Nelly’s single) and has since flopped the charts. Kelly is still an underrated R&B artist.

@Timo, Hmmmm, that’s a lie! The song “When Love Takes Over” with her and David Guetta went #1 and also got her a grammy. “Commander” which is also HER single went #1 on the dance charts as well.

And she did get a nomination for “Motivation” at the grammy’s. Not to mention it went #1.

Yes, she is an “underrated” artist, but don’t make it seem as if she’s some type of “flop” artist.

I bet if Kelly’s albums got as much promo as Rihanna and Beyonce’s did, she could hit those numbers as well.

Kelly, you my girl. When the group first came out (Destiny’s Child) Kelly was always my number one. Such beauty and talent. I knew Beyonce was goona do a Diana Ross on the group sooner or later. It is a shame that Kelly doesn’t get enough recognition!!
