Rap-Up.com || G.O.O.D. Music Album ‘Cruel Summer’ Gets a Release Date

The wait is almost over. Pusha T took to the airwaves today to reveal the release date for the long-awaited G.O.O.D. Music compilation.

Kanye West and his cohorts will release Cruel Summer in August, according to the Clipse rapper. “G.O.O.D. Music compilation coming August 7,” Pusha told Funkmaster Flex on Hot 97.

The album has spawned the single “Mercy” featuring Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Pusha T, and Kanye West. The crew is expected to perform the song at the BET Awards on July 1.

Kanye first announced plans for the album in October 2011. An accompanying film of the same name was shot in Qatar and premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last month.

GOOD Music’s Cruel Summer Album has the potential to be the best hip hop album of the year, and possibly the best music album of the year. I’m looking forward to seeing Kanye West, Pusha T, Common, Cyhi Da Price, Q-Tip, Teyana Taylor, John Legend, Kid Cudi, Mr. Hudson and others drop great verses and hooks on this album.

Almost EXACTLY a YEAR after Watch The Throne dropped. Kanye has been on a roll lately. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy in 2010, Watch The Throne in 2011, Cruel Summer in 2012.

We already know 4 of the songs that’ll be on Cruel Summer (Mercy, Way Too Cold, New God Flow, I Don’t Like), so hopefully they’ll be as good as those tracks… If you haven’t heard any of those other than Mercy, they’re on YouTube under GOOD Music’s page
