New Music: Nelly Furtado – ‘Spirit Indestructible’![]() Nelly Furtado is unbreakable on “Spirit Indestructible,” the second single off her album of the same name, due September 18. The anthemic tune was produced by Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, who also helmed the club banger “Big Hoops (Bigger the Better).” “It’s an ode to the spirit which resides in all of us and triumphs over anything,” explained the Canadian songstress. “It is inspired by people I have met, and special moments in history that I have read about.”

@Replay, Have you heard Timbaland’s new songs……they are horrible…Nelly had reinvented Timbaland musically, not the other way round. There’s not gonna be another Loose….Nelly always does something different….and this song is good….and so was ‘Big Hoops’….

@therealest, She is one of the Most successful acts of all time. Loose and Say it Right are on the best sellers of all time, also whoa nelly and turn of the light. Big hoops it’s top 40 in uk, Europe and Canada. Won 2 grammys. 40 million albums. So not at all irrelevant and this is demo not radio rip

@Ice, Have you heard timbo lately? He has seriously lost it. Nowhere near the man he was, or his sound. His electro beats are something like a weak David guetta sound. They said it was timbal and who revitalized Furtado’s sound, but I come to believe it was the other way around. Nelly revitalized timbos creativity and took it to his best era when he produced timber lake, one republic, Madonna 4 minutes, now he just not good. And I used to be a huge fan of his work since 90s…also this is a demo or some rework using a poor quality live version recording

Well.. this is bad. But then again, her career has always been up and down. Whoa, Nelly! was quite successful, but in comparison, Folklore was not. After that, Loose was a huge hit. I think that she has waited too long to release new english album. She’s lost it. For now at least.

@Meee, When you win a grammy for writing, you have to WRITE on your next album. She did that with folklore. She showed her versatility, but I think nelly likes to shake her booty more than be thought of as a serious writer/artist. Promiscuous made her mainstream again and I’d prefer she go back for round 2 with Timbalan.

It might not be her strongest material but there is so much hate on Artists who constantly reinvent themselves. You guys will hate on ANYONE who does anything different or takes a chance. If they are not Beyonce, Rihanna, Lady Gaga or Justin Bieber they are not “relevant”….

Idk how I feel about this. I want to say I like it but it just sounds weird. I want her to succeed with this era but something just seems off. Maybe it’s just that I have such high expectations after “Loose” but I have to keep telling myself that was SIX YEARS AGO.

When your ears hear foreign sounds, they reject them. Try to appreciate before you negate. You’ll have more valid information to contribute. Most didn’t even notice Furtado’s musical progression (past 2 min.). #fail.
Note. She’s on this site because she’s always been a part of hip-hop culture. She was a rapper to begin, but decided to switch her talents to being the most diverse and culturally aware pop entertainer out. If you haven’t heard her albums, you haven’t been exposed. So, why place judgment when you can simply observe and appreciate what she has to offer? Why limit what someone has to offer based on your limited perception? #fallback.

Replace Keri with Carrie Underwood. Waaaay Better live and her songs don’t suck like Keris have lately.
As for this song…. Yeah idk what happened with this studio version. The live version was WAAAAAY better! And for everyone saying its a demo, Nellys Facebook dropped a link to this version last night. I’d doubt they’d do that if they weren’t ready.

Me too! It’s astonishing when you see one up close isn’t it? How was your elpehant ride? When I went on one in Nepal four of us had to squeeze into a little crate type thing on top of the elpehant, each of us taking a corner with a strut between our legs. Every time the elpehant clambered down something (like a river bank) we’d shriek!
