Rap-Up.com || Usher’s Stepson Declared Brain Dead After Jet Ski Accident

Usher’s 11-year-old stepson has been declared brain dead by doctors after he was struck by a jet ski over the weekend.

Kile Glover, the son of Usher’s ex-wife Tameka Foster, was floating in an inner tube with a female friend on Lake Lanier in Atlanta on Saturday when he was hit in the head by a jet ski driven by a 38-year-old man, who was reportedly part of their group.

“On Friday afternoon, a pontoon boat was pulling an 11-year-old male and 15-year-old girl on an inner tube when a jet ski ran over the two children,” Georgia Department of Natural Resources spokesperson Robin Hill told E! News.

Glover was unresponsive when he was taken from the water and airlifted to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. The female victim was treated for a cut on the head and a broken arm.

Despite their divorce and ongoing custody battle, Usher chartered a plane for Foster so she could be by her son’s side. The R&B singer arrived at the hospital on Saturday night.

On Sunday, TMZ reported that Glover had been declared brain dead by doctors. A decision has yet to be made as to whether or not to take him off life support.

The family received an outpouring of support on Twitter from their friends including Monica, Ashanti, Toni Braxton, Jermaine Dupri, and Fantasia.

“My heart goes out 2 @TamekaRaymond thru this indescribable time.Im praying 4 u,Kyle,Ryan&ur family may God bestow his Blessings upon u all,” wrote Ashanti, while Fantasia added, “Everyone PLEASE pray for Usher and Tameka’s son! This is the time they really need your prayers!”

@Shade, HE’s not dead..he’s “Brain” dead which means there is no activity in the brain but the heart is still pumping blood and it’s going everywhere, but the brain is shut down…which can turn into a comma. There is still hope that he can make a full recovery …my prays goes out to you and your family usher.

@Realist : Navy-Nazi, This is a very sad time and unfortunate situation. To correct you, there actually isn’t a chance of recovery if some is brain dead. Which means, that the brain is dead and the only thing keep the body alive is machines. When some is in “coma”, there is a chance of recovery because they are breathing on their own so therefore they are able hopefully gain conciousness … just an fyi

So sad to hear this, but some of y’all need to understand why brain dead is called brain DEAD. There is no possibility of reversing the death of the brain; there is a reason he is on life support. If you’re brain dead, sorry to say, there is 0% chance of somehow slipping into a coma, then waking up.

So so sad.

To Usher and Tameka, I heard the news and I want the both of you to know that God is still able. I know this is a Hard time, but it’s not over until God says it’s over and as long as Kyle still have breath in his body – he can and will make it. Lean on God and on one another- I am with the both of you and I am praying for your family!!!

Sweetie the brain control everything within the body. Yes his body is pumping blood but with the assistance of the machine. If they remove him from life support his heart will stop without the activity of the brain. Sorry to be so grim as I too am praying for the family
