Rap-Up.com || Azealia Banks Brings Mermaid Ball to L.A. [Video]

Azealia Banks made waves when her Mermaid Ball took over The Fonda Theatre in Hollywood on Saturday night. Following sets from Maluca, Gita, Kingdom, Charli XCX, Rye Rye, and more, the hip-hop dynamo lit up the stage in a scandalous fuchsia show-stopper with starfish pasties that would make the Little Mermaid blush.

With the words “Fantasea” spelled out in balloons over the stage, Banks kicked off her 45-minute set with “Fuck Up the Fun.” She performed “Liquorice” off her EP 1991 and new material from her mixtape Fantasea including “Jumanji,” “Aquababe,” and the Montell Jordan-sampled “Esta Noche.” Blasts of confetti fell from the sky onto the sea of fans as she closed with her salacious single “212.”

Okay now. So where is lil Kim now huh? I’m sure she would think she “swagger-jacked” her 1999 look at the VMA’s right? And Azealea Banks really put kims ass on blast on twitter. Yet lil Kimberly said nothing at all. This just goes to show the hypocrisy of lil Kim. She clearly doesn’t like female rap artists when they take off and remind her she ain’t the top female in the rap game any more! Because Azalea came for her a hell of a lot harder than nicki EVER supposedly did in her ’07 ’08 mixtapes (with little evidence she was even talking about Kim especially since she gave her a nice shout-out on one of the tracks) and this outfit by azalea is clearly influenced by Kim’s most famous look with the infamous pasty. Yet Kim is silent. Just more proof that team minaj was right all along.

You say Lil’ Kim doesn’t like female rappers but she sure as hell brought out Missy, Eve, Babs, Lady Of Rage, Shawnna, Lil Mama, Somaya, Peppa and Da Brat on her tour. Not to mention her being GOOD friends with Lola Monroe, and Trina. You little monkeys keep trying to make Kim look like some “bitter” bitch when that’s not even the problem. I’m pretty sure Kim has no problem with Banks jacking her style, and she said herself she had no problem with Nicki jacking her style, the only problem with Nicki was her MOUTH!
