Elle Varner goes deep on “I Don’t Care,” the third single off her debut Perfectly Imperfect, due August 7. The R&B songstress loses all inhibition when she’s around her lover, but she doesn’t care. “I’ve done away with my pride/ They say I’m out of my mind,” she coos on the midtempo track. Get lost in Elle’s love.

Elle Varner is a talented singer, and her music can’t and shouldn’t be denied. Elle Varner came out at the right time. I believe Elle Varner along with Frank Ocean can take R&B music to a new level. Hopefully, both Elle Varner and Frank Ocean have long successful music careers.

@TRA, Agreed, but I would add Miguel to the list as well. Those 3 are reviving good R&B.

@Ice, agreed Miguel needs to be added but I would put Melanie Fiona up there too. They all stay true to themselves and I believe they are the future of R&B

@chocolateboi, It is true that Trey Songz is a mainstream R&B artist and Trey Songz is more popular on the radio, and gets more radio airplay than Frank Ocean, Elle Varner, Miguel, and Melanie Fiona right now, but Trey Songz makes the same songs over and over again, and hasn’t done anything special lately to push R&B music to a new level. The same thing could be said for Usher, Chris Brown, and Beyonce. I respect Trey Songz, Usher, Chris Brown, and Beyonce as talented mainstream R&B singers, but all 4 of them haven’t been putting out extremely great music lately.
Usher’s last album got good critical reviews, but that album turned out to be a commercial failure with terrible record sales. Chris Brown’s last album got terrible critical reviews and terrible record sales compare to his last album. Beyonce’s last album 4 got good critical reviews, but didn’t sell as much as I Am Sasha Fierce album. People get tired of hearing the same songs all the time that deals with club hopping, bravado, arrogance, making love, bad relationships, being lonely, cheating, and women empowerment. People want to hear something different in R&B music now.
Frank Ocean is by far the best music artist out right now, Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange album has gotten extremely great critical reviews. Elle Varner is the future queen of R&B music. Elle Varner is bringing something different to the music table. Miguel, and Melonie Fiona are also bringing something different to the table. Frank Ocean, Elle Varner, Miguel, and Melonie Fiona are the 4 new music artists who have the potential to make new great R&B music and take R&B music to a whole new level.
