Rap-Up.com || Brandy Performs ‘Put It Down’ Live in Washington, D.C.

Brandy swung through the nation’s capital to perform during a free concert presented by 93.9 WKYS at Howard Theatre. Beaming in blue, the R&B songstress showcased her new single “Put It Down” for the first time live, busting out some hot moves (courtesy of choreographer Frank Gatson Jr.) as her loyal fans sang along to every word.

She recently shot a video for the Sean Garrett-produced song with Chris Brown and famed director Hype Williams. Meanwhile, her album Two Eleven has been moved from an August release to October 2.

Ok Brandy s voice is unbeleivable so she could never be called a ” has been “. Cause she alrady left her print on rnb music and in music. Plus she performs better and better.

All foolish should have known : best artists this times around are not on the top of the charts.

they shouldve had this ready for her to perform at The BET Awards honestly. RCA or her team need to make changes. Put It Down couldve been handled way better. Video shouldve been released right after the single, not leaked. released weeks later… video shot months later then released weeks later…….. the single wouldve took off. and this album would NOT be pushed back to October.

Bran looks cute, sounds good, but I’m still not feeling it. I’ve literally been a Brandy fan since the pamper. All of my musical firsts and a good amount of my musical favorites have been attributed to this woman. I’ve received/bought every album, and some of the older albums that were lost over the years, I bought them again, so it’s not that I’m hating. I definitely understand trying to find appeal and connect in this generation of music; I get it, everyone’s trying to figure out where they fit in in the industry (i.e. Brandy’s “Should I Go?”), but it feels like a musical regression to ME. It feels like she went from wanting to make good music to wanting to make hot music, and she has yet to find a balance. I wish her the best of luck, and of course, I’m still a fan, but if her new album (that I honestly believe might not see the light of day) is full of “Put It Down” remixes and re-do’s, then I probably won’t be getting it.

@2011k, Yeah im a Brandy fein too, and admit it or not her vocals set a blueprint for a lot of current female r&b and pop singers. And nobody does Justice to a ballad like Brandy, but her last Album Human was full of great ballads and it did very poorly on the Charts and led to her being dropped! So i dont know if i can blame her for compromising and trying to go for the charts, and this song feels like that. But i understand, we say we love great music, but then the Artists that do real music tend not to do as well on the charts as those that put out horrible shallow music, so what do we really want.

I really hope they push for my girl Bran this time around, b/c this is pretty much her last straw…the industry is just all messed up right now that the “true” artists aren’t getting the time of day anymore…

I’m really tired of all the push-backs…regardless of their marketing strategies, people will start to lose interest, including her fans…i’m a die-hard fan and will buy her album either way, but all these delays are really reducing my excitement for this album…still keeping my fingers crossed for Brandy though!
