Rap-Up.com || 2 Chainz Calls Out ‘Lazy’ Artists for Remixing His Songs

Everyone from Wiz Khalifa to Brianna Perry has remixed 2 Chainz’ “No Lie,” but the Atlanta rapper has some words for those who want to rhyme over his beat: Find your own song.

While some may be flattered when another artist jumps on their record, 2 Chainz is not one of them. “Everybody alwayz REMIX my songs,” tweeted the artist formerly known as Tity Boi. “how bout u lazy artists,try 2kom up wit sumthn original,instead of replacing my words wit urs. MUSIC is fun.”

His Drake-assisted single has already spawned a plethora of remixes and it’s likely that his newly released record, “Birthday Song,” will follow suit unless his peers heed his advice.

2 Chainz, who is currently on tour with Nicki Minaj, has announced his own headlining tour, which will kick off on August 30 in Norfolk, Virginia. His Def Jam debut Based on a T.R.U. Story is due August 14.

I checked only because he called someone lazy…really? He is extremely bad in my opinion (not MJ Bad, just bad…). The only verse I seemed to enjoy was on “Mercy” and it still wasn’t amazing, just good. He shouldn’t be mad people jump on good beats that he simply wasted ;P .

The artists who remix his songs aren’t doing something different from what 2 Chainz does himself. He hears a beat, likes it and starts to write his verses. An artist hears the song, finds that the beat stands out and starts writing from there. It has nothing to do with laziness. As an artist you hear different things, so to hear a new approach to a certain beat is a fun and interesting thing, to me at least. As long as when it’s time for business, such as a studio album, you make sure your stuff is original. Other than that, I disagree with 2 Chainz.

He didn’t create the beat, the producer should gripe about it before he does. but now a days this is nota sign of laziness, it’s a marketing strategy. Its a part of the grind. You are still showing ya skills just using a familiar beat. It doesn’t mean you can’t create ya own songs.

That’s why being that he was in this position long ago, this seems funny coming from him. This was lil waynes ticket, Nicki minaj’s too, and many others. Sounds like he is starting to feel himself now.

Just last year, he had ppl tossing out flyers tring to be noticed. I remember at the lil wayne concert I went too. He was still going by tity boy and half the people didn’t even know him. And the white people were laughing at it.

Now if he is talking about established artists, I can kind of see his point.

For the people saying he’s not a lyricist… DUH! That’s so obvious, but being real, it’s a lot of rappers that would fall under the category of not being lyricists. I can definitely agree that’s he not the deepest or dopest of rappers, but whenever his part comes on in a song, folks be feeling it.
