Rihanna Welcomes Oprah to Barbados
Rihanna played host to Oprah Winfrey when the media mogul visited her hometown of Barbados over the weekend. The 24-year-old superstar got behind the wheel of a jeep and gave Oprah a tour of the island. They also sat down for a one-on-one interview at the luxury resort One Sandy Lane in St. James.
“Look who popped up in my Hometown BARBADOS,” tweeted RiRi.
Oprah chatted with the singer about her journey to becoming one of the biggest pop stars on the planet. “@rihanna and I finishing up interview . What a refreshing surprise she is!” she wrote.
The interview was taped for an episode of “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” which will air August 19 at 9 p.m. on OWN.

I always respect Rihanna. She does her and doesn’t pretend to be some pristine perfect person. Much respect. She’s not the best vocalist but she’s made a life for herself and her family.
And she can carry a note. Just wish she’d lay off the smoking and liquor and get back to her 3rd album era vocals. She sounded pretty decent then during her European shows.

@meme, No Beyonce’s 4 album charted at number one, sold 310,000 it’s first week and has gone platinum, and sold . Lady Gaga’s Born This Way charted at number one, and sold over a million in it’s first week, and she has 3 chart topping international singles. Rihanna’s Talk That Talk did not chart at number one, and still to this day has not sold 1 million, or gone platinum. Rihanna’s album did not do well in any way. Now, Rihanna had a number one Hot 100 hit, but her album did not do well. So therefore, Beyonce and Lady Gaga’s albums did much better overall.

@Robert, Yea their albums did ok but both their labels was still disappointed in the albums overall performance because of the lack out big singles…apart,from born the way. Beyonce and gaga have huge followings so obviously they will sell albums regardless but they singles were horrible…even Katy perry belted more hits than they did.
P.S talk that talk is newer than both those albums so u can’t compare there performance.
