Dr. Dre Develops Scripted Drama for FX

Dr. Dre

Dr. Dre has made his mark in music, movies, and business with his popular Beats by Dr. Dre headphones, and now he’s ready to take on television. The hip-hop mogul is developing a scripted drama for FX.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 47-year-old West Coast icon has inked a development deal with the cable network and writer Sidney Quashi for a drama pilot. The one-hour series, which takes place in Los Angeles, explores the music business and crime business.

Dre will serve as executive producer of the drama, while Quashi is billed as creator and executive producer. Daniel Schnider will co-executive produce for Dre’s Crucial TV, along with co-EP Brad Bertner.
