Hit-Boy has manufactured the sound for superstars including Kanye West, Jay-Z, Rihanna, and Justin Bieber. Now the 25-year-old “Ni**as in Paris” producer makes the leap from producer to rapper with his debut album HITstory. The Inland Empire native calls in favors from Big Sean, John Legend, Bun B, and Stacy Barthe on the 11 tracks, which include the singles “Jay-Z Interview” and “Old School Caddy” with Kid Cudi.
“I’m just excited to finally put out material of my own,” said Hit-Boy. “I’ve put my heart into building hit records for other artists and now, I feel it is time for me to prove myself as a recording artist too.”
I’ve heard comparisons that Hit-Boy is gonna be like another Kanye…I don’t see it..Hit-Boy as an MC does not interest me one bit, his flow isn’t great and he has no energy when he spits. He does have some pretty good beats on this album tho, I’ve give him that.
Great start. Not quite there, but I’mma have some of these songs on repeat for a while. And he is WAAAAY better than A lot of some higher profile rappers(2 Chainz, Big Sean, Tyga, Mac Millar, Ect.)
This is really good, 3/5 for lyrics, beats 4/5, and originality 3.5 or 4/5. East vs West, Jay Z Interview, Old School Caddy, WYW, Busta Ass Niggas, Break Lights, She Belongs to the city are my favs. The intro is different and unique, Option is cool and the last track is nice. Fan is really the weak one but has a dope beat.
@SeanDon, Hit Boy is better than Tyga, but not Big Sean. So far Hit Boy, Teyana and 2 Chainz are not up to the rest of GOOD but can get there. GOOD has lyrics and nobody fucking with them.
its hit and miss..that first track didn’t do anything for me but brake lights is alright. looking forward to seeing him improve. things can only get better! obviously production beats is sick. practise makes perfects, he should keep at it

His flow is soft.
I think he needs to starve a lot more before
he’s allowed to garnish the mic.

@SeanDon, Maybe better than Tyga, but definitely not Big Sean. The productions carry the weight of this debut, but it’s pretty solid.

How better this would’ve been if he had just kept his rhymes off and added everybody else’s on.
