« New Music: DJ Khaled f/ Nas, Scarface, & DJ Premier – ‘Hip Hop’Rita Ora Covers One Direction’s ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ »Sneak Peek: Rihanna Surprises Oprah During Intimate Interview![]() Oprah visited Rihanna in her native Barbados earlier this month and came away with a whole new opinion of the pop star. She was expecting a hard-edged badass, but what she saw was a thoughtful, emotional, vulnerable woman, who also happens to be a good driver. They drove to her old house where she grew up and mingled with some of the neighbors. The down-to-earth singer took time to say hi to everyone and give them hugs. “I’m super-duper afraid of the pedestal that comes with fame,” said Rihanna, adding, “It’s amazing how lonely you can feel.” Their intimate conversation will air August 19 at 9 p.m. on “Oprah’s Next Chapter.”

@Cody, two beautiful black queen doing their thing. i love seeing strong successful independent black women being an inspiration and a shining beacon of hope for these young girls esp in he black community to achieve their goals regardless of the pressure they face from society on a daily basis. we need stop pulling each other down and end the animosity towards each other cause at the end of the day we’re all in this together.

Ive never been so Excied to watch a interview.
Ppl really don’t give Rihanna the credit she deserves. The girl is under 25 and is already up there with Mariah, Whitney and madonnas records. If she quits now and never make another record She will go down in history as one of the greatest artist ever. This coming from someone from an island is major. I can’t express my love for her enough.

She seems like a humble person who’s secure in her skin to a certain degree. She’s personable and I feel that’s been one of the major driving forces in her career so far.

@SMH at your life, I think she actually is the girl next door and the Bad gal Riri image is fake. That’s why when she first came out she was all sweet (because that is the true her) and then Def Jam released this cute and sweet thang don’t sell.

@Young Pereezy YMCMB-MMG, ur as ignorant as they come…
if it’s that simple and easy to be an “Oprah”, then where are they??
hmmm…exactly
There is only 1 Oprah and there is no other Black Woman on her level…how dare you tear her down and degrade her, but praise Rih-Rih??
It’s all because of hard work, dedication, knowledge, passion, strength, wisdom, professionalism, talent, and self-drive that got Oprah to where she has been all these years…and although Rhi Rhi is quite successful for her age, she is just a very small fraction of what Oprah is worth, of what she owns, of her success, of her achievements, of her knowledge, of her power, and the list goes on and on…
You sound Rih-diculous!!

@TheDreamer, Beyonce childhood home was a 2 story mansion. She and her family were rich before her career. That would not make good television.

@Meme,
KNOW YOUR FACTS. HER PARENTS WEREN’T RICH THEY WELL OFF – LIVED IN A LARGE HOME & RAISED THEM WITHOUT THEM KNOWING THE VALUE OF MONEY! THEY HAD UPS AND DOWNS IN HER CHILDHOOD. BUT EVERYBODY INCLUDING RIHANNA KNOWS HER BAD-GIRL IMAGE IS FAKE. RIHANNA IS GOOD TELEVISION BECAUSE THE BROAD IS CONTROLLED. INTERVIEWING SOMEONE LIKE CHRIS WOULD BE GOOD TELEVISION!!!

@Meme, So the “struggle” makes a better episode ?
I mean , u basic fans always find something do down Bey about . So now you’re blaming her parents for being successful . Hoe my GAWD .

@RealIssh,
No, ppl just respect REAL. Even though Bey’s family was successful and Bey works hard – her she acts like she’s perfect, shows hardly no emotion, keeps the same blank expression on her face everytime they ask her something and overdoes things to the tee.
And the STRUGGLE appeals to a lot more ppl than the high life does. A lot more people can relate to Rihanna than Bey b/c Rihanna does one thing that Bey DOESN’T….
…keep it REAL. You should know bout that RealIssh, huh?

She did this show because she needs to hide her subversious image which made her loose her partnership with the brand NIVEA.
She needs to take it easy these days
But we all know how silly and untalented she is.

@Ursula : Ima keep it real cuz I am RealIssh . Now , Beyonce is a Queen so she can do whatever she pleases . As far as interviews , who gives a Damn ? She’s here to entertain not tell her life story . That’s what Ri gets confused . I don’t care about nobody’s personal life – just hit them notes . Rihanna can’t so she focuses on the latter .
Being poor makes Ri real ? Having money makes Bey fake ? U should Ri-evaluate your minds process .#Majah. The honesty of the Queen is in the music which is exactly where it should be .

@Real Issh, I STAN FOR BOTH! BUT… I LOVE Rihanna more because she IS REAL! Bey acts so high and mighty, and I know from a personal experience. Just because you can “hit the notes”.. WE ALL KNOW SHE CAN!,doesn’t give you the right to act like your are above anyone. Especially the ones who SUPPORTS YOU WITH THEIR MONEY! Rihanna loves to engage with her fans and will flip out on her bodygaurds if they get in the way. People can relate to the “struggle”… because most people weren’t born with a silver spoon in their mouth. They both worked hard to get where they are at… Bey had an advantage, but she still worked her tail off. Still, they wouldn’t be where they are at if it wasn’t for US. Rihanna ALWAYS lets us know that she is very greatful for us. When was the last time Bey told US…her fans/stans that? It’s been a while. Fans need to quit the battle with each other.. I know Rih and Bey love each other and support each other. #1LOVE
