Rap-Up.com || Tracklisting: Miguel – ‘Kaleidoscope Dream’

Miguel’s sophomore album Kaleidoscope Dream is not due in full until October 2, but he has revealed the 11 tracks that will make up the project. The follow-up to his 2010 debut All I Want Is You features the first single “Adorn,” with production from Salaam Remi, Pop & Oak, and Jerry Wonda.

He offered a taste with his first three-song micro EP Kaleidoscope Dream: The Water Preview and will release three more songs on Kaleidoscope Dream: The Air Preview, hitting iTunes on September 11. The final full-length album will combine the two digital EPs with five new songs.

“It’s definitely a progressive album,” the 25-year-old told Mina SayWhat. “I would describe it as being progressive in the sense that I’m taking a lot of my more alternative influences and incorporating them.”

Only problem I have with the tracklist is if you followed Miguel during the Art Dealer Chic era, several of these songs we’ve heard already. So far only like 5 of the songs I haven’t heard yet.

What the hell he released a couple of these songs on his Art Dealer Chic series. I may not buy this based on this tracklist. That is lazy as hell to put out an album with a bunch of songs you already released on mixtapes. What is he doing, can’t believe Def Jam approved of this!!!

Well looking at the track list I bet the next EP will contain the last 3 tracks, since they are already old anyway.

If he didn’t do this EP thing then 7 of the songs would be new instead of 5. I’m actually glad Arch n Point made it, I know it is a perfect for the sound he is going for on this album.

Like an earlier commenter said, he has done this before, All I Want Is You had Ushers versions of a few of Miguel’s songs floating around, and some songs were years/months old

Only song I don’t like is the track 10 ugh.

UGH! I don’t like that fact it’s only 11 songs, & 3 of them was on the actual mixtape. No wonder I was praising it sounded like an album, because a third of it was basically part of the album. That upsets me. There’s no point in releasing it in 3 series, 2 EP’s & the album, if basically 1 of the EP’s we have the songs already (the 1st EP is 3 songs, so basically since 3 was on the mixtape’s, we have an EP already that we’ve heard). That’s lame. He could’ve at least had 16 songs, that disappoints me. Don’t look like I will be likin that P**sy track right off the back. I don’t care to hear explicitly about someone’s sexual exploits.
