Rap-Up.com || New Music: Ciara – ‘Livin’ It Up’

After unveiling the cover art for her new single “Sorry,” Ciara surprises us with the breezy pop jam “Livin’ It Up.” The One Woman Army plays by her own rules on the Wynter Gordon-penned record, which appears on an Epic Records playlist (via Cosmopolitan.com). “I have my doubts in love, but I know it’s true/ I don’t have many friends, but I’ve got you,” sings Ciara, chanting “Ola ola ey!” on the catchy chorus. Seize the moment with CiCi.

@DC, Well, to be fair Love Sex and Magic reached the top 10 in several countries. It’s been her most successful song since The Evolution. As far as Gimme Dat and Sweat goes; I would consider them to be upbeat r&b, not pop.
I don’t believe this song would be a hit if it were released as a single, but it’s a start in the direction she should be headed in :P

Ciara’s been doing “Pop” music since 09. Do you people not remember “Love Sex Magic”? and not to mention “Turn It Up” which was suppose to be her 4th single off of “Basic Instinct”.

I really like this song, it has elements of “Pop/R&B”. Atleast she didn’t go with the fast tempo/ fist pumping music everybody else is doing (ex: Rihanna, Chris.B).

I’m so happy for her tho, I have a feeling this era is going to be really good.

I love this record, I love the new direction completely. I think it is wonderful that she killed that Urban noise because the market is no longer listening to that due to these section 8 having fans downloading music. Ciara is too multi talented and was once in the top tier of selling females prior to Fantasy Ride and Basic Instinct which were both very solid albums however the New Direction will gravitate a new audience that actually purchases music. I Love Ciara, always have and always will.

For all of you who keeps saying why is ciara singing pop instead of r&b.. stfu. Honestly I think pop best suits her because even tho I’m a fan… I will agree that Ciara has went downhill with her music… why would you want her to keep singing the same genre if shes not getting any hits?
