Rap-Up.com || Video: Mariah Carey f/ Meek Mill & Rick Ross

Mariah Carey is a knockout in the video for “Triumphant (Get ‘Em),” directed by her husband Nick Cannon. Meek Mill plays a boxer, duking it out in the ring with his opponent as Mariah, DJ Khaled, and a fur-clad Rick Ross cheer from the sidelines. The blonde bombshell shows off her sexy body while playing a ring girl and glitters in all gold as she performs in a shimmering gown.

The uplifting record, produced by Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox, was inspired by Nick’s health scare earlier this year. “I wrote ‘Triumphant’ when I was going through a difficult time and it helped me get through it,” said Mimi.

Mariah’s new album won’t arrive until next year when she takes her spot on the judges’ panel on “American Idol.”

I know Nick is your husband, but please stop letting him direct your videos. The angles and shots were horrible and we barely got a clear, close up of Mariah.

I seriously hopes she releases another single. I’m thinking something more along the lines of “Heartbreaker” or “Touch My Body.”

@Ursula, I was thinking the same exact thing! Like… the set looks like, expensive, professional… but the shots are so damn awkward.

Why did the ropes have to be in every single shot of Mariah? He couldn’t take one scene inside the ring for a change of pace? The bridge section is really awkward because it’s Mariah’s biggest section, so I kept expecting the camera to zoom in on her… but nope!

I am so confused by this song. There is no real verse by Mariah…she is just singing the chorus and doing her usual runs at the end of the song. Maybe it’s a good thing her album isn’t coming out till next year because hopefully this song will be forgotten and she’ll come out with something stronger.

@EvO84, She looks amazing!! And her voice is still legendary. This video is so beautifully directed! Tough, blings, glamour, inpirational and all that in one. It’s a great song and it doesn’t even need to talk about love and sex like other songs.

i really appreciate the music that mariah puts out. this is such an uplifting song and i cant stop singing it!!! u go girl :)

i have a feeling shes going to blow us away with this next album, TEOM style hahaha. cannot wait, especially for the song where its just her and a piano that Big Jim was talking about. looking for them phenomenal vocals girl.
