Big Boi flipped the script while shooting the video for “She Said OK” with Theophilus London. The OutKast member rolled up in a Rolls-Royce to the set in Atlanta, staying fresh in his designer wardrobe.
“The song has a lot of expletive lyrics to it that portray the male in a domineering light,” said director Alexi Papalexopoulos. “In this video, I thought it would be cool to juxtapose that ideology by having the female in a domineering role and our rappers, our men, in a submissive role.”
The rappers played pool and smoked cigars, but this is not your typical rap video. “It’s a real artsy video, so this ain’t the typical bikinis and girls everywhere,” said Big, while Theophilous added, “The song is very explicit, so we gon’ keep the video toned down. We gon’ be gentlemen.”
Big Boi’s sophomore album Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors is due November 13. Go behind the scenes below.
