Rap-Up.com || Rihanna to Perform at the MTV VMAs

Rihanna is making her return to the MTV Video Music Awards. The pop princess has been added as a performer for this year’s show.

She will take the stage at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on September 6 at 8 p.m. EST. She leads the awards with five nominations including Video of the Year, Best Female Video, and Best Pop Video for “We Found Love.”

While MTV has yet to make an official announcement, Rihanna confirmed the news herself. When asked by a fan if she will perform, she said, “PHUCK YES I WILLLL!!! JUST FOR MY NAVY!!!!”

Previously announced performers include Alicia Keys, Pink, One Direction, Green Day, and Taylor Swift. Kevin Hart will host and presenters include Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, Miley Cyrus, and more.

The last time RiRi performed at the VMAs was with Eminem in 2010.

Makes only perfect sense why should would perform when she is the leading lady of the night. I look forward to it. She’ll probably do Where Have You Been, We Found Love, or a combination of both. Just hope she puts in a lot of practice into it so she doesn’t sound hoarse like she tends to do sometimes, cause in a sense, this is one of the biggest performances of her career. She hasn’t been nominated in this light in 5 years. @Biggibenzo

I’m excited to hear the news that Rihanna will be performing at the VMA’s, especially when we haven’t seen her perform at the award show since 2010. It’s also exciting to see her being nominated for five categories. The VMA’s always give my Dish coworkers and I a lot to talk about. This is why I’ll be recording on my Hopper this year. I love this equipment because it enables me to start watching on my living room TV and continue watching where I left off, on any TV in my house. I love the convenience of being able to watch recordings all over my house without a lot of interruption.
