Rap-Up.com || Video: Lupe Fiasco & Guy Sebastian

Lupe Fiasco has been embroiled in controversy with his own music, but he fights a different war on his latest track. The Chicago MC marches to the front lines of love on “Battle Scars,” his collaboration with Australian singer Guy Sebastian. Lupe ignites his fiery rhymes as he performs on top of a car amidst destruction and chaos. The video even carries its own message: “Turn off your computer right now and go outside and do something to change the world.” But first watch the video below.

Love it! This track debuted at #1 in Australia and is still there. Guy is an insanely talented vocalist and songwriter – so this collabo worked out really well.

Definitely recommend you check out Guy’s previous work too (namely his work with Eve, Jordin Sparks, Brian McKnight & Lionel Richie).

@Tim, you make it sound as if he hasn’t done anything of his own. His best stuff is his own solo work – except for Battle Scars, which I love.

I remember Guy saying in an interview early this year that he was looking for the ‘right MC’ for this track on his forthcoming album. He’d tried a couple of rappers but they didn’t work out. He always said that ideally he’d like to get Lupe but didn’t like his chances. :D I guess some things are meant to work out.

@MmmHmm, it’s more like a duet – equal billing. It’s released on Lupe’s label in the US (Guy not having a current US deal of his own) so it seems reasonable that Lupe’s name is first.

@Vega, His facts are right. This song was writen by guy, he sent out requests for rapers and lupe was at the top of his list. But lupe 100% released the song in the US because guy isn’t signed in the states so put both fact from your comment and his and there’s the full story.
