Rap-Up.com || Album Cover: Brandy

After much anticipation, Brandy unveils the artwork for her sixth album Two Eleven. The R&B diva rocks a long ponytail and bares her abs while standing over a mirror on the cover, photographed by Gomillion & Leupold.

Due October 16 via RCA/Chameleon Records, the project features the Chris Brown-assisted single “Put It Down” and follow-up “Wildest Dreams,” with contributions from Sean Garrett, Frank Ocean, Rico Love, Jim Jonsin, Bangladesh, Tha Bizness, and more.

“It’s just an R&B album, a rhythm and blues album,” Brandy told Rap-Up.com of her first record since 2008’s Human. “No gimmicks, real R&B music.”

This was WAY BEFORE every other artist jumped on the Timbaland band wagon and started going after him to produce their whole albums in hopes for a hit. Brandy and Tim had great chemistry together. “Human” was very underrated as well. Great R&B music. I loved “Long Distance, “Shattered Heart” and the title track.

Her song just got to #13 on the R&B/Hip Hop Charts and its #90 on the Hot 100. And at the end of the day if you aint doing a pop record you cant break into the top 50 of the Hot 100. I seriously LOVE THIS COVER! Very bold and she looks fierce striking that pose. I remember she said in an interview awhile back that she wanted Gomillion and Leupold to shoot her album packaging because of the positive response she got from the photoshoot she did with them in 2010 with her sitting near the pool. I can’t wait to see what the other photos look like. My favorite cover of hers is “Never Say Ever.” I love the close up shot of half her face. The “Afrodisiac” cover was her worst IMO. She looked way too skinny. Once again, I LOVE THIS!

I don’t usually post here but I just wanted to say: After all this time, it still pains me to read some of the comments from the Brandy haters. However, the truth of the matter is, any kind of hate towards this woman simply highlights that she’s doing something right! A lot of the hate seems to come from fans of ‘similar’ artists to Brandy and frankly, it’s pathetic.

Anyway, this album cover is perfection. I would have liked a different shot for the deluxe cover, but I’m not complaining as I’m too excited about the music!

@Kyle, people are pressed over the deluxe b/c an important factor in record sales is the product’s packaging, which is part of the album’s marketing. If the package is pleasing to the eyes of the consumer, it will influence their decision on whether or not they wanna buy it.

In other words, if there’s good quality packaging and imagery in the physical product, consumers will tend to believe that a lot of effort was put into the album and therefor the quality of music is good…it’s that simple ; )

OK first of all i’m big brandy fan. I really love her music , i think she’s probably the best vocalist in the game right now . But to be honest i’m kind of disappointed with this era.

Put it down and Wildest dream are cool but nothin more , what’s happened to the old brandy ? I feel like she lost her sound

Human was a big disaster compared to Afrodisiac ,Full Moon & Never say Never. I Really hope two Eleven will bring us back the brandy that we all love.

From the press release and the Rolling Stone preview, I think this album will be straight up R&B made for 2012!

Brandy !Brandy! Brandy. Brandy can’t be compared to anyone. She has her own signature and style. If album sell or flops, I don’t care. All I know is Brandy is a ‘must have’ in my collection anytime she is ready to drop song/album. Can’t wait for Two Eleven
