Lupe Fiasco takes the spotlight on the tracklisting for his fourth album Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1. Due September 25, the follow-up to his 2006 LP features 17 tracks, with appearances from Bilal, Casey Benjamin, Poo Bear, Jason Evigian, and Guy Sebastian on “Battle Scars,” for which he recently released a video.

The Chi-town MC made the controversial record without any outside pressure. “It’s the Lupe Fiasco that I want to be without the industry constraints, without trying to please the hardcore fans or the new fans,” he told Fuse. “It’s just me, what I would do for myself, if nobody ever heard it. This is the kind of music that I would make. It’s a masterpiece. It’s real good. It’s real fu**ing good.”

He has already released the singles “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free),” “Bitch Bad,” and “Lamborghini Angels.”

As a devout Lupe fan, I hope this delivers. I know this won’t give me the same affect as the first Food and Liquor since that really changed my perspective on mainstream rap.

this is on subject:

Anyone know why Dawn Richard’s Music is amazing? it’s partly because she’s not holding back anything. She doesn’t have a label deciding for her what to make or release. Which is also why I was mad that Danity Kane was never as successful as they could’ve been.

That’s also the reason why Lupe’s last Album was sucked compared to his last ones. he had more freedom on Food&Liquor and on TheCool than he did on LASERS. you see the difference?
