Azealia Banks takes it back in the fashionable and fun video for “1991,” a cut off her EP of the same name. Yung Rapunxel is striking in curly black hair and a cropped Tom Ford jacket as she dances in the Justin Mitchell-directed clip, which was inspired by Crystal Waters’ 1991 video for “Gypsy Woman (She’s Homeless).”

It has already earned praise from Estelle, who called it the best of the year. “ok ms @AZEALIABANKS hunny werk. all beauty. all amazing. all my fav vid this year,” she tweeted.

Azealia has released a video for every track off her four-song EP and is readying her Interscope Records debut Broke With Expensive Taste for release next February.

The only objection i have with Ms. Banks is that all her music (beats), rapping, & appearance are starting to sound identical (even though that her style) which now disappoints me! I would like to see more variations than just subtle changes! Overall it’s a great fashion show or photo shoot music!

I agree with many of the comments here…Azealia is bringing back something unique and fresh with her delivery…no gimmicks just good music and thats always been her objective…she is definitely paving her own way and knew she would be big big from when she just put out 212…I will say there is room in this game for more than one female hip hop artist …Nicki, Eve, Azealia, Kim can still do their thing and its good to have a variety…why is it that we have to put a crown on a female but the male counterparts are doing their own thing and there is no controversy…i am not a huge Nicki fan but i respect her hustle and she has some cute songs…but i do have to say i am leaning towards Azealia because she is so different and unique

I think she’s paying homage to Whitney Houston when she’s sitting at the table and the backdrop is all black. It reminds me of Whitney’s “It’s Not Right, But It’s OK” video in that scene.
