« Rap-Up TV: Hit-Boy Talks ‘Cruel Summer,’ Playing His Album for Jay-ZPresident Obama Addresses Nicki Minaj’s Romney Rap »Ciara Announces Two New Singles, Album Due in December![]() Ciara has been teasing fans with the promise of new material, but now she’s making it official. The R&B star has announced two new singles off her Epic Records debut One Woman Army.
The video for “Sorry,” the first single from her fifth album, will premiere on BET’s “106 & Park” on September 13. She previously posted hand-written lyrics from the Jasper Cameron-produced song on Twitter. The 26-year-old singer reveals a softer side on the follow-up to 2010’s Basic Instinct. “I can sometimes be afraid of my own vulnerability,” she said. “But this time I let myself face it. I let myself feel. I let myself be real. I let myself hurt and be healed.” The project, described as her most authentic, emotionally honest, and ambitious to date, includes production from The Underdogs, Rodney Jerkins, Soundz, Jasper Cameron, Josh Abraham, and Jermaine Dupri. She gave fans a first look into the album with the upbeat buzz single “Sweat” featuring 2 Chainz. After “Sorry,” a video for “Got Me Good” will premiere alongside the single’s release on October 8, with One Woman Army to follow on December 4. ![]() You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site. 82 CommentsLeave a Reply

I wish her the best, but let’s face it, she’ll sell between 35,000-80,000, if even that. Either way, her stans will say “Oh wow, she still accomplished so much in today’s market!” Wrong. Unfortunately, she falls in the category of Fat Joe, Bow Wow, 50 Cent, Slaughterhouse, Kelly Rowland….do you see where I’m going with this?

@pressed much?, Not a hater if I said I wish her the best. Dont forget that part. Be honest, not many artists recover sales-wise after “flopping” or doing less than reasonable numbers. Only person I can think of is Mariah Carey after her Glimmer movie/soundtrack came out, and then she shocked the world with her EOM comeback.

@Dan, Mariah never was on the level of flop Ciara is at not even close! 50 was never on this level of flop, Kelly Rowland has never been on this level of flop yet., nor slaughterhouse as has been mentioned.
She has a 3rd album that sold less than 300,000 copies which is already a huge disappointment when the precious sold 1.5 million + so she was already having by a thread and then when given the next chance the 4th album sold maybe 70,000 copies!! L.A. Reid is insane for signing her after that. There is nobody who has ever come back from falling so hard twice in a row. Please keep in mind this isn’t a “flop” in the typical sense. If Ciara were to have an album that sold 600,000 copies it would be a HUGE success but she isn’t even on that level right now. I guess there’s a first time for everything but it really is unheard of.

In order to ensure you wont flop you have to make sure that you make songs that are 100% single worthy atleast 4 or 5. Dont put out an album date and a song until your really sure. Sweat was a very risky single choice that is why they scrapped it and made it a buzz song. Honestly if im not feeling sorry im gonna really doubt her this time. This is her last shot to prove that she has a comeback a lot of pressure is on her and the label to deliver.

If ciara is lucky she will sell 80k in her first week. She wont do any more than 100k in the first week i can assure you that. Shes gonna need back to back #1 hits or atleast in the top 10 on billboard hot 100 to atleast show she has something to prove. I think she should just hook up with Calvin Harris and try to make a record like Rihannas We Found Love thats the only way lmao.

There releasing this album the same time Basic Instinct and The Evolution came out. Basic Instinct was released december 10th 2010, The Evolution was released December 5th 2006 and this one being released December 4th 2012. I think if Sorry has major success they should push the date up to November sometime they shouldnt wait it out like they did with Fantasy Ride pushing up a date can gain more interest to be honest.

With her last two albums, Ciara would give the release date and then she would stop after a few pushbacks. But the fact that Epic Records revealed the date already gives me hope that it will actually stick. It just makes me question their strategy though because releasing this during the 4th quarter when all the big name artists drop their albums is a risky decision. It could definitely get lost in the shuffle. But new music, and a new music label…hopefully things will go differently this time around. Regardless, I’m excited. I’ll always support Ciara!
