Rap-Up.com || New Music: G.O.O.D. Music – ‘Cruel Summer’ [Album Snippets]

With only a week to go before its release, iTunes has posted 90-second snippets from the G.O.O.D. Music album Cruel Summer. The tracklisting, which is the same as the one that HMV Japan posted earlier this month, features the G.O.O.D. Music crew including Kanye West, Big Sean, Pusha T, Common, Kid Cudi, D’Banj, John Legend, CyHi Da Prynce, and Teyana Taylor.

The hip-hop collective also reached outside the camp, calling upon Ma$e, R. Kelly, Marsha Ambrosius, The-Dream, and Jadakiss for the 12 tracks, which include the singles “Mercy,” “New God Flow,” and “Clique.”

If you can’t wait until September 18, sample the goodies below.

Sounds like a solid album but it’s G.O.O.D. Music, could’ve been so much better. Creepers will be the best song IMO.

I felt WTT wasn’t all that either, guess Kanye is best on his own. Solo album will probably be tons better.

We’ve already bumped to half of this album in the last 6 months, they’re played out. So the standard edition album doesn’t have enough tracks for fans who’s been anticipated since last summer and I don’t really care about features but we expected so much more from Kanye

I have heard 5/12 of this album already, if there is no deluxe edition, fuck Good Music. I was expecting so much more, 9 people aren’t even apart of the group and ending the most anticipated album of the year with Don’t Like? Kanye what happened???? Push-backs, last-minute work and just 12 tracks!

Were is Mr Hudson, Frank, my girl Azealia? I ain even excited anymore. Channel Orange hands down is the the best album of the year.

I believe GOOD Music-Cruel Summer album is going to be one of the best hip hop albums of the year, the best hip hop compilation album in a long time, and arguably the best album of the year. Until GOOD Music-Cruel Summer album comes out, I still believe Nas-Life Is Good album, Frank Ocean-Channel Orange album, and Lupe Fiasco-Food & Liqour 2: The Great American Rap Album Part 1 are going to be the best albums of the year.

At the beginning of the year, it was already confirmed that Kanye West, Pusha T, Kid Cudi, Big Sean, Common, John Legend, Cyhi Da Prince, Teyana Taylor, Mr. Hudson, D’banji, Hit-Boy, 2 Chainz, Don Jazzy, Mos Def, Q-Tip, Frank Ocean, Mannie Fresh, and Marsha Ambrosius were going to be on GOOD Music-Cruel Summer. Now the final confirmed tracklist says that Mr. Hudson, Frank Ocean, Mos Def, and Q-Tip are not going to be on GOOD Music-Cruel Summer album.

I’m happy that R. Kelly, Jay-Z, Mase, The Dream, Ghostface Killah, Travis Scott, Jadakiss, and Raekwon are on GOOD Music-Cruel Summer album. I’m upset that Chief Keef is on GOOD Music-Cruel Summer album. I’m upset that 2 Chainz has more guest appearances on this album than Common, Mos Def, and Q-Tip combined together. I hope that Mos Def, Q-Tip, Frank Ocean, and Mr. Hudson make guest appearances on the deluxe editions. This album would be even better, if Jay Electronica, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Lupe Fiasco, Andre 3000, and Azealia Banks were on this album as well.

Its funny that even with this album’s problems (12 tracks, not all of good music on the album,2 chainz on 3 songs, not enough common/cudi and “Dont Like” as the closing). This still sounds leaps and bounds better than We Are Young Money and self made 1&2. I’m still going to pick this up as well even though this on Ye’s normal tier.

1.”To The World” Imma wait to hear the whole thing b4 I go in on R. Kelly.

5.”The Morning” I wanna hear Cyhi rip it

7.”Higher” The-Dream let me down a little, hope Murder Mase does just that to the track.

8.”Sin City” This feels like the star track from the album.

9.”The One” Happy to hear Marsha, I heard her singing her part for this song and she is so damn gifted.

10.”Creepers” *JIGS IN MY ROOM* It sounds like MOTM 1 Cudi.

11.”Bliss” I pictured there duet to be how they sound together on “Sin City” so this took me off guard.

All in all I just want more is it just me feeling this greedy or does any body feel the same

i only waited for this to hear some new B I G seandon verses…but since i saw the tracklist and “CLIQUE” was released (which is pretty dopeee) there is only one verse left on “The One” which sounds fire i like the beat…ohh that beat on “The Morning” sounds HOTTT… anyways there are a few good songs but definetly not that much of what we could expect!

I understand the problems, not enough tracks, mos def q tip and Hudson are missing (might be on background vocals or additional tracks on the deluxe). To me this is far better than any albums released in a couple of years and better than any comp album besides the Bad Boy one. And people saying it don’t sound hip hop or sayings it’s weird, GOOD ain’t just hip hop they are Alternative hip hop and RnB. Plus each artist has a different sound and style. People aren’t ready for the new era of music. This will be great and sell well. If you love music and ain’t narrow minded this is your type of album.

A lot of other G.O.O.D artists that were confirmed to be on the album aren’t here, so unless we were flat-out lied to, it’s safe to say that there will be other tracks. Sounds like an album i’ll be satisfied with, but I won’t decide that for sure until those tracks come out.
