Rap-Up.com || Faith Evans Reveals ‘R&B Divas’ Cover Art, Tracklisting

Faith Evans reps for her ladies on her upcoming album R&B Divas, which serves as the companion to TV One’s reality series of the same name. Due October 2, the 12 tracks include duets with her fellow divas including Fantasia, Kelly Price, Keke Wyatt, Syleena Johnson, and Monifah, with production from Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony (“Tears of Joy”) and 1500 or Nothin’ (“Dumb”).

Proceeds from the album will benefit the Whitney E. Houston Academy of Creative and Performing Arts.

“I’m extremely excited about executive producing this Faith Evans R&B Divas album and working beside some of the premiere female R&B vocalists of our generation,” said Faith. “I’m also proud to honor my dear friend and music icon, Ms. Whitney Houston, and give back to the community in doing my part to help save performing arts in schools. Making this album has been an incredible experience, and every true fan of R&B music will be touched by these beautiful songs of love, hope, and triumph!”

For real, Ms. Evans? I’m all for seeing her back in the limelight, but the other ladies should get some facetime too. Besides, the album is called ‘R&B DIVAS’ not ‘R&B Diva’.

@Karruche Will Never Be Rihanna, @Here Lies Hip-Hop, The cd and show have nothing to do with one another if you will. The show is about former rnb artists who were chewed up by the industry. If u watch the show u’ll see faith asked everyone to be apart of “HER” new allbum and the proceeds will go to the school named after whitney in her honor. She wanted her new album to have real music and instead of featuring rappers and stuff, she used all RnB vocalist. That’s why every song is ft. someone. She did ask and they agreed but she did not ever say it was for The Cast of the shoe, or that it was for anyone else’s use(which they all get exposure from it anyway). && besides these ladies know the business and this had to be agreed upon and in a contract, otherwise they could sue the hell out of her you know?

Ok so why am I giving this show ratings if FAITH is going to be the only one on the album cover? NO MA’AM this h** needs to SIT!! Personally, I like Monifah the best. Faith is ugly and she did NOT age well. She is using these ladies to get her name back in the limelight. IF I were those ladies i’d remove my name from this project!

When was the last time Monifah did something big that did not revolve around NY Gay Pride and the chitlin’ circuit? It’s under Faith’s name because she has the coins and the label. @HereLiesHipHop It’s her project, she can do whatever she wants. The women are grateful to be apart of it. She has four songs, who cares? Get over it. She could’ve had all of the songs and had them singing back up. It’s not that serious. Each of the other 4 ladies have an individual song and Kelly Price has a solo song too. Be grateful that she is even doing this project. They also have more air time on the show then she does. So what are you seriously complaining about?

Lalah is right. It’s Faith’s project, get over it. If Nicci would not have asked Faith to be apart of the show, do you really think Tv One would have picked it up? Hell No! Also, ask yourself when was the last time any of you bought the other four ladies records? FYI: Faith let it be known before the show even aired that it wasn’t going to be a super group project, but a collaborative effort. Girl Bye!

They pitched that show several times and Tv One did not care until Nicci asked Faith to be apart of it. Peep the blogs and twitter feed before the show and when the show premiered. Also, Faith sold enough units for “Something About Faith” to be considered for Grammy nods when no one knew that she had new music released. (Kanye Shrug)

4 anyone hating on Faith “for stealing the limelight”, please have a seat. If you would kindly remove yo’ head from out of yo’ ass, you would clearly see that this a pure business move FOR ALL OF THE WOMEN! Out of all the RnB Divas, Faith has the biggest name, sold the most records, and acquired a larger fan base. It’s nice to see Rap-Up finally promote this project (aside from tears of joy), and give some REAL sangers a chance. Not ones who use auto-tune, or scream to cheat their bars when songwriting.

Every episode, it has been stated that the album was Faith’s project and the show was Nicci’s project. It’s a collaborative effort under her imprint. She is in full creative control and is at liberty to do whatever she pleases. Y’all are throwing shade at Faith based on your own ignorance and not factual information. We’re supposed to be celebrating R&B music, not be caught up on trivial foolery. Put that passion to good use and buy the album. The End!

I think some people are confused. This was never suppose to be a “soundtrack” to the show. If that was the case, we would have seen the ladies recording the album right away during the show. This was an idea that Faith Evans had and wanted to incorporate other R&B female singers. Are we really mad that Faith had an idea to do a reality show and co-executive produce it, executive produce an compilation album and release it on HER label??…U damn right, she going on the cover and any other questions? I’m sick of peeps talkin like Faith ain’t shyt when she’s done way more than you would ever realize. Show some respect.

Nicki gilbert had the idea for the show but it was faith clout that got the show picked up , all the ladies are very talented but never had the same amount of fame faith had or respect in the industry they have a chance to use the show to showcase the talent rather than personel drama dont hate faith for promoting her brand all the hate you clearly have know idea how talent and respected faith is

Where is the “Brave” record that Monifah and Syleena co-wrote? I’ll support this effort. Have always loved Faith! Monifah is my favorite. Keke can sang but she does too much for me and Nicci and Syleena’s attitudes turn me off. They can all sang tho.

So far I have been a fan of the show Faith is still great to watch, Monifah has come across as the voice of reason through out the entire show. I am glad to see Keke has adressed her issues she has become a role model for others,Syleena has grown on me… And then theres Nicci her attitude is horrible, and she acts as if she is doing everyone a favor by being on the show. She demands to be in charge and over talks every one in every conversation. The show could have used someone who wanted to sing an appreciated the second chance lets face it it took 2 shows for me to remember who she was.

If you didn’t know…this was something that FAITH was putting together b4 the show. They all knew the deal. They knew that they were doing it for Faith. Since they were doing the show 2gether…they got put on more songs. She had a wish list of people that she wanted for HER album. It was never an album for the show. it’s loosley based around the show.
