Rap-Up.com || New Music: Missy Elliott f/ Timbaland – ‘9th Inning’ + ‘Triple Threat’

The wait is over. After a 7-year hiatus, Missy Elliott makes a triumphant return to music. The hip-hop icon debuts the full versions of “9th Inning” and “Triple Threat,” the first singles off her seventh album, tentatively titled Block Party. Both tracks were produced by and feature her partner-in-rhyme Timbaland, and will hit iTunes tonight.

“We’re basically coming to switch music again,” said Missy during her Ustream session. “People wonder what took us so long and I feel like we needed to refresh our brains and either come correct or don’t come at all.”

These songs are the perfect introduction back into the game. Nicki thought she could just come in and wipe out all the others that came before her but MISSY ISNT HAVING IT. This just goes to show you what else Missy has in store for Hip Hop. Her next singles will be bangers i guarantee you that. Missy has always been about UNITY puting other female rappers on her songs and in her videos creating a huge event. Nicki is just a bitter gimmick with boring music and horrible music videos.

Funny thing is she can come harder but even when she isn’t showing her true potential her music is better than everything that’s hot on the charts right now and that is what is killing some of you isn’t it? She doesn’t have to compete with someone who’s name wasn’t even mentioned until a couple of years ago when she has been around for 10 years and is a respected legend and who has worked with legends,and, she REALLY doesn’t have to prove herself to a bunch of kids that where probably in their dads ball sack when she was making history. I hate when older artist come out and people want to talk about their sound is dated when half of the material from their faves where inspired from that sound. Shut up and stop being so obsessed with wanting your fave artist to succeed that you can’t even enjoy real talent and music.
