The Weeknd gears up for the release of his Universal Republic debut Trilogy by revealing the sexy black-and-white cover art. The bundle, due November 13, consists of mastered cuts from his three mixtapes—House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence—along with three new tracks.
The Canadian singer also drops a self-directed video for “Rolling Stone,” which originally appeared on his mixtape Thursday. Watch it below.
@keisha, ok you can loose the idea of bigger and better sounds did u not hear the remasterd Wicked Games… SHIT .. .CRAP… DISTASTEFUl… Lacks Emotion.. alot of cinematic thrill that originally caught our attention .. smf universal republic n their label execs … even this song remastered lacks alot of emotion
@Jon, me too. We’ve been bumping his mixtapes for a while now. I’d like an albums worth of new material, not three tracks. I won’t be buying that’s for sure.
@Jon, I understand that, but remember this. The Weeknd put out 27 songs FOR FREE in a year. The least that can be done put a little money into that hard work.
@Kalin, exactly and more than likely, already own. It’s hard enough to sell NEW MATERIAL in this market. Who’s really going to purchase songs that has been given away for free a while ago? Sadly this will flop and I’m a fan :-/
Well we can say that about miguel album we heard 9 of the tracks before he released the complete album so only 2 or 3 new songs but we buy it as its fantastic deserved quality album! I support quality rnb music like Miguel, the weeknd and frank ocean who have changed the genre of rnb music to be fresh again!
I hope he picks the right songs for the trilogy I would pick High For This, The Birds, Wicked Games, Rolling Stone, The Zone w Drake, The Morning, House of Ballons, Montreal, Next, Outside and Same Old Song although he should reall be looking to work on an album next year with new tracks
THing is his fan base is big but after this drops will get much bigger as some people still don’t no who he is just the guy that sang Crew Love on Drakes album so I think this release will set up the album relase next year perfectly
even though I heard these songs already, I’ll still support and buy the album. he is talented and he deserves the support. what he and Miguel are doing with their releases are similar if you think about it. I like his video for rolling stone as well.

I rather him just remaster the entire House Of Balloons mixtape and put on like 6 new songs
House Of Balloons = classic/masterpiece
Thursday = Boring
Echoes Of Silence = Good but nothing amazing.
