Lil Wayne Encourages Christina Milian to ‘Try New Things’ on Young Money Debut

Christina Milian

Since officially signing with Young Money over the summer, Christina Milian has been in the studio working on a new album. The “Dip It Low” singer stopped by “Big Boy’s Neighborhood” on Power 106 to discuss her YMCMB debut and what it’s like having Lil Wayne as her boss.

“Wayne just gets his artists, which is great,” she said. “I have a very one-on-one business relationship with everybody from Mack [Maine] to Wayne. They’re just very involved in the project as far as bringing the music, playing songs, just giving their input.”

She’s hoping to put out a single and video in the near future so she can perform it on NBC’s hit show “The Voice,” where she is a social media correspondent. “I really want to pick the perfect single though,” said Christina, whose last album So Amazin’ was released in 2006. “It’s been a second since I’ve been out musically, so I do not want to fail and I don’t believe in failure, so I just try new things and figure out the pieces.”

But she’s in no rush. “That’s one thing that’s great about Wayne. He’s like, ‘Work with different producers, take your time, but at the same time, try new things. Don’t be stuck on one thing.’”

Wayne should have given the same take your time advice to Nicki. That roman reloaded crap was a rushed mess. And Milian never captured me as a great singer.

She will flop no matter what along with Bow Wow, Shannel, Mystical and Busta Rhymes…Cash Money’s success window is closed for anyone other than Wayne, Drake and Nicki

It’s such a shame a talent like Christina Milian has to sign with someone like Lil Wayne. Don’t get me wrong, Lil Wayne has some good records (and a bunch of bad music), but he doesn’t have the knowledge and experience in this industry as Milian herself. She really left her mark on pop music back in the years.

I just hope she comes out with GOOD music. Not the songs been giving to Nicki Minaj or Shanell. But I guess my hope is nowhere and she comes with an album full of Young Money cameos. Once again, such a shame!

love her, just wish she would focus solely on music, she always has 50849784 projects, or just a lot going on. If you think about it she’s never just gave the music 100%. It was always a movie, a marriage, boyfried(s), daughter, sunglass line, swim suit line and miscellaneous side projects.

I believe she has the talent, and I know her purpose as an entertainer will eventually come to light. She has the IT factor, she just needs to get IT together. And you cant say ppl arent checking for her, because they obviously are, may not all be for positive reasons but they def are checking. (She continually has been in the limelight even with no big hit movies or music since 04)

Hopefully this is the right move for her. I believe a reality show would be nice for her also.
