Rap-Up.com || Monica Preps New Album with Big Name Producers

Only six months after releasing her sixth LP New Life, Monica is already back in the studio working on her next album. The R&B songstress took to Twitter to share some of the big-name producers on board.

The 31-year-old was in New York this week meeting with her label RCA Records about the project. She plans to get in the studio with a who’s who of hitmakers including Missy Elliott, Rico Love, Jim Jonsin, Stargate, Mike WiLL Made It, Polow Da Don, and more.

“Album7❤ @iamricolove ,Jim Jonson, stargate,Mike Will,Red Styles,Polow,Missy & Many More FRESH sound FRESH music, ” she tweeted.

She posted a photo of herself with RCA Records CEO Peter Edge, writing, “The Amazing stance Ali has in the background says it ALL❤Me & Peter Edge❤Fresh Music, Feel, Producers & Sound.”

New Life entered the charts at No. 4 in April and featured her duet with Brandy, “It All Belongs to Me.”

Monica’s voice was mature when she was 13, and now at 31, all her stuff is starting to sound the same. She can sanng, but creatively she’s a little flat.

Didn’t she work with most of these producers, if not all of them on “New Life”? I’m glad she is done with taking 4-5 year breaks in between albums though. She is clearly wasting no time. It’s kind of sad that “New Life” never really caught on because I happened to really enjoy that album. The pace was slow and never really picked up but her voice is too good to ignore.

RicoLove songs didn’t do anything for NewLife nothing memorable, but Cainon Lamb(BigMistake,Breathe,IN3D), JermaineDupri & Bryan-Michael Cox(Amazing) & Warren “Oak” Fielder, Andrew “Pop” Wansel(Catch Me) were the absolute best producers & songs I keep those on repeat. Nothing against RicoLove but I skip all of his songs, he to many that just didn’t do a thing for Monica like the song with Brandy that song to me was somewhat childish silly.

Glad to know she’s working on a new album. I agree that the last one was a little bland but it was worth it for “Time To Move On”. That’s such a powerful song. I love Monica’s voice and as always I’ll support her.

I hope everyones taking note of the fact that these artist are doing reality tv in order to get their music out there. Reality tv did help Monica with the promo and sale of her Still Standing album, Mo may have to think about that and I’m not saying it has to involve her family just the industry and her music would be just find. I will support just hoping for a better more up tempo RnB album, NewLife didn’t make me feel as if she was enjoying a NewLife it was the total opposite.

@trillafood, um no she didnt. this is the first album brandy’s worked with either of them. Monica’s worked with Jim Jonsin and Stargate before New Life and Two Eleven. Brandy didnt go into the studio with Rico until after Monica’s last album. Get your facts straight before u talk shit, faggot.

Don’t start the brandy stuff she had 2 albums flop before she got it right. Monica last album was too mature and she listed these producers and said MANY MORE which means she about to try some new thins. That’s what KC had to do and I love the change with a little familiarity .Monicas naturally a cool chick without trying so this will be great

I give props where its due and Monica is a dried up prune. New Life was wack, Still Standing was wack. But good luck to her.

monica albums are classic so are brandy’s yes fresh is good for mo rico love is basic but he gave bran some heat for 2/11 mo needs to let polow or missy produce bulk of the album…she also needs new producer mansur and stacy barthe cuz she was plannin on givin bran some heat…pop and oak and i would love to hear mo on a timbaland track :) imo her career has lasted longa than bran but bran is more of a fan fave cuz she #dances :)

I am totally excited for Monica. I wish people would not compare Brandy to Monica because they have their own unique features about them and they don’t need to be compared to each other People should just recognize their talents and not who work with who and who sang better because you can only compare something if they are the same and they are not so give it up. I cant wait for Monica to work with Mike Will and the rest I wish that she will not work with Rico Love also but I am glad that she states that she is producing “fresh music”
