« Ciara Talks ‘One Woman Army,’ 50 Cent on VH1’s ‘Big Morning Buzz’Nelly Announces New Mixtape ‘Scorpio Season’ »Video: Bruno Mars – ‘Locked Out of Heaven’![]() A blast from the past. Bruno Mars works up a sweat in the ’70s-inspired video for “Locked Out of Heaven,” the first single from his sophomore album Unorthodox Jukebox, due December 11. Shot in a vintage style, the clip shows what Bruno’s life might be like as a soul singer from the past and revolves around him performing at a club. There are other scenes of him hanging out with his Hooligans and addressing reporters. The Hawaiian crooner decided to give the Cameron Duddy-directed clip to his fans first instead of holding out for a television premiere. “Everyones telling me to wait for a big primetime premiere on TV but you know what i says to em? I says NO! My fans desoyve to see it foist!” he tweeted. Bruno will host and perform “Locked Out of Heaven” on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend.

He is so much like MJ it’s scary. In a good way though, he’s making good music.

Was really afraid that the video will turn out cheesy, but Bruno has just hit a home run. Its impossible to sit still and watch this. Bruno is going to blow the roof off with the live performance on SNL.

@Leaveit2me, Funny how that “one big yawn” was 2011′s BIGGEST SELLING MALE ARTIST IN THE WORLD. He has also been praised by legends like Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Sting, Janet Jackson, The Beach Boys, etc. He has more talent in his little finger than you do in your entire body.

Love the song, like the vid, but it’s a complete rip of ‘Second Chance’ by Peter, Bjorn and John SMH…

@ddttrs87, No, it’s not, and the melody and chords are completely different. This song began it’s production last year (the hook was written) when him and his band were jamming with Lenny Kravitz. This song has that 80′s police-esque vibe, if you haven’t realised, so that’s what you’re hearing.

@Nina, it’s cute that you stan hard for Bruno Mars but let’s not get delusional. Yes, there is a Police-esque vibe, but that still doesn’t take away from the fact that the verse sounds hella similar to ‘Second Chance’. The rhythm may be different but the chords ARE the same, you don’t need a degree in musicology to realise that…just ears.

@ddttrs87, Honestly, I really can’t hear the similarities in the melody or chords at all. I was actually going to say that the rhythm might be slightly similar, but that’s all. And like I said before, the production of this song began early last year (2011), when him and his band were jamming with Lenny Kravitz before a show; and the song overall was produced by Mark Ronson, who is a respected and critically acclaimed producer. If I heard similarities, I would agree, but I genuinely can’t hear them (I’ve studied music before, so I’m not tone deaf lol)
