President Carter is endorsing President Obama for re-election and encouraging voters to exercise the “power of our voice” this November at the polls.

“What he represented to a nation of kids was hope,” says Jay-Z, dapper in a suit, in a video posted to Obama’s YouTube channel. The visual is interspersed with footage of the President talking about Jay-Z at the Made in America festival in Philly this summer and how Hov embodies the American Dream.

“You can make it if you try. Jay-Z did,” says Obama. “He got ahead because he worked hard, learned from his mistakes, and just plain refused to quit. That’s the promise of this country.”

Hov urges fans to register to vote and exercise their right in selecting the next President.

“Now people are exercising their right and you starting to see the power of our vote,” adds Jay, who held a fundraiser for Obama at his 40/40 club last month. “Having someone in office who understands how powerful our voice can be is very important.”
