Rap-Up.com || New Music: Kendrick Lamar f/ Drake

Kendrick Lamar and Drake join forces on their highly-anticipated collaboration “Poetic Justice.”

The Compton MC and Canadian superstar trade verses about their special lady over the smooth Scoop DeVille-produced beat, which samples Janet Jackson’s 1994 hit “Any Time, Any Place.”

“A fatal attraction is common and what we have common is pain,” raps K-Dot, while Drizzy rhymes, “I can never write my wrongs unless I write ‘em down for real.”

“Poetic Justice” appears on Kendrick’s debut good kid, m.A.A.d city, in stores Monday.

@wqw, I’m a huge fan of everything Kendrick’s put out since Kendrick EP and Im on listen 4 front to back. I’m giving it a 8.2/10 so far. Starts off incredibly strong, doesn’t fade but loses track of the premisis when it preaches in the last 1/4. Great corner stone to build a long career off of

This shit is weak. The sample flip was weak. Janets voice continuously going creates CLUTTER, I don’t even know what to focus on. Chorus is terrible. I’d rather hear the original Janet track… seriously… considering the means that these guys have access to, this is the best they can come up with? BOOO NIGGA BOOO

very nice song overrall, but kendricks chorus is not good, not horrible, but not good either, should’ve just used Janets sample maybe chopped it up or something, would’ve sounded better. Seems like he’s trying too hard.

don’t feel this! usually love nearly everything drizzy touches, but chorus and sample are both too weak … (props to ms jackson though, her songs still good!)
but kendrick lamar seems not to be very inspired and its like you heard about thousands songs you know already sound similar!
