Rap-Up.com || Video: Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys ignites the screen in the “powerful, sultry, and fun” video for “Girl on Fire,” the first single off her upcoming album of the same name. The Grammy-winning singer shows her superwoman strength as a mother, wife, and daughter in the Sophie Muller-directed clip (Beyoncé, No Doubt). Nicki Minaj does not appear in this particular video, but there may be an alternate version for the Inferno mix.

Alicia just wrapped her album this week. Due November 27, the follow-up to 2009’s The Element of Freedom is expected to feature collaborations with John Legend, Babyface, Emeli Sandé, Pop & Oak, Swizz Beatz, and a duet with Maxwell.

I love Alicia…but im still not really feeling it like the build up to The Element of Freedom in 2009. To me, that was her most consistent album. I looooove How it Feels to Fly.

Man, Alicia is a beautiful girl! And I LOVE this video!!! I didn’t even know what to expect for the video. It really has a good vibe to it. I don’t know how to explain it though. It kinda feels old, but new at the same time, the way it was shot. It’s a VERY beautiful done music video. I’ve always loved the song and now with the video, I understand the songs meaning and I love it more. Definitely one of my favorites. Repeat fasho. The part with the Alicia, daughter and Grandmother breaking veggies to the beat made me smile. Awesome job!!! Can’t wait for the album!!! :)

This what these girls need to do esp the R&B acts. They need to be more artistic and conceptional when it comes to their music videos. we live in an age where visuals is just as important if not more important than the song it self. great visuals equal good sales. I’m rooting for Alicia, as always, but the excitement hasn’t really hit me yet for her new album. Something about “Girl On Fire” is underwhelming to me. Everything from the song itself to the lousy VMA performance makes me think she can come a lot harder than this. This song still sounds like it could’ve been a bonus track off of “Element of Freedom.”
