Rap-Up.com || Album Cover: Game

Game is no stranger to controversy and he’s about to ignite another firestorm with the illustrated cover for his upcoming album Jesus Piece. The religious-themed artwork features a portrait of Jesus with a teardrop tattoo under his eye, a Jesus piece chain around his neck, and red bandana over his mouth.

The image has already sparked outrage from some fans. “You took this shit too far,” wrote one of Game’s Instagram followers, while another added, “Open minded people see this concept, but I think this cover can push some people away homie.”

Jesus Piece, Game’s fifth and possibly final album for Interscope, is due in December featuring appearances from Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, and Kanye West, who is featured on the title track.

“You want to believe in God, but you don’t want to be criticized and ridiculed by people who think that they’re better than you,” Game told Rap-Up TV of the concept. “I don’t want to feel like I can’t love God or appreciate Jesus and have to put down that blunt.”

Look people….one thing that I don’t understand is that the world tends to forget to keep it real. God will use who he wants to use. Game is trying to bring Jesus to people in a way that they will understand. Jesus hung out and spent time with people who sinned and NEEDED him. We all have our issues and I am sure people who have commented have screwed up since they have been saved if they are Christian. Point is Jesus came so that we can receive GRACE to live this life free. I support Game and will buy this album because maybe someone will actually open a Bible and learn who Jesus is and get saved.

Jesus is for everyone…even the gangsta and gangbanger.

Why is this offensive? It’s not offensive when you go to a church and see a white Jesus? Jesus is from the Middle East and his skin color was brown. At least Game is educated enough to know that! And far as the badanna and the year drops etc. it’s just Game’s background. Game sees religion different like everyone else in this world. He has kids at home, he had a wife and he works hard to provide for them. I think this is a very great cover. Jesus Piece will be the album of the year! Hate it or love it.
