Cole] »Alicia Keys’ Black Ball Postponed Due to Hurricane Sandy![]() Put the tuxes and designer gowns back in the closet. Alicia Keys’ Black Ball charity gala has been delayed due to Hurricane Sandy.
The ninth annual Black Ball to benefit Keys’ organization Keep a Child Alive was originally set to take place on Thursday at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom, but it has since been postponed due to the storm. A new date will be announced in the coming weeks. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all our fellow New Yorkers affected by this devastating storm,” the organization said in a statement (via MTV News). This year’s Black Ball was set to feature performances from Beyoncé, Carole King, Angelique Kidjo, and Alabama Shakes, while Oprah Winfrey and Kidjo were to be honored for their philanthropic efforts. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards people affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India. TweetYou can leave a response, or trackback from your own site. 8 CommentsLeave a Reply

@YMCMB_#1STUNNA, You’re a dumbass! her single is currently #10 on US Itunes. It’s cancelled as the area where the venue is located was submerged under water

People in NYC have lost their homes to the hurricane. It isn’t funny and not a joke.
Alicia Keys has always supported her global community but you can’t do that when all of lower downtown is submerged in water, no lights or electricity.
Ignoranant people are always the first ones to comment.
