Rap-Up.com || Ciara, Kelly Rowland Join ‘VH1 Divas’ Lineup

The divas are hitting the dance floor. “VH1 Divas” returns this year for one giant dance party featuring performances from Ciara and Kelly Rowland.

The ladies will pay homage to the greatest divas in dance music including the late Whitney Houston and Donna Summer when the annual affair airs live on Sunday, December 16, at 9 p.m. EST.

This will mark Ciara’s first time on “Divas,” while Kelly last performed in 2000 with Destiny’s Child. Joining them on the bill are Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, and Jordin Sparks, with host Adam Lambert.

“VH1 Divas Will Be An Extravagaanza! Yaaassss!:) So Excited! Ow!!” tweeted Ciara, while Kelly added, “Can’t wait to perform at @VH1 Divas 2012!”

In the past, the “Divas” franchise has featured duets with pop’s leading ladies including Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Shakira, Jennifer Hudson, and more.

@bills paid on time, What exacly is wrong wit the line up. I mean these aren’t HUGE Stars but they’re great performers (excluding Miley IMO). The fact that they’re tributing Whitney Houston and Donna Summers threw me off a little though. Curious to see how this plays out. after “Black Girls Rock” Im almost certain that Ciara will put on a good performance

Ciara will rock. Kelly has an amazing voice, but honestly, Ciara is a powerhouse performer; despite her lack of vocal capability. She deserves this. BUT! I’m excited for the both of them!

I think Ciara will surprise alot of people. Kelly is obviously going to perform Donna Summer because she is Donna’s long lost daughter. This is a pretty awesome theme dance music I love it!

tbh Ciara has a voice for dance music I really dont have doubt when it comes to her singing it. She has never had a bad vocal performance for 1,2 step, LSM or Get Up. Breathy yes but bad no in recent year she has gotten alot better. Her performance of Got ME Good actually singing and dancing was great!

I really loved the old Divas Live series, but after it went off for several years after 2004s Divas nothing has been the same (ok between 2001-2004 there were good and bad moments, but since 2008 it’s no good anymore. I stopped after the 1st “new” episode).

Ciara, Miley Cyrus, & Demi Lovato? I thought the series VH1 Divas was for the real singers (I mean people who can actually sing, not play with songs but, make you feel them). What is this trash they should have just let this series go. I mean we could not get a Beyonce’, Keyshia Cole, Jennifer Hudson, or ZZ Ward. Women who can actually sing!!! This list is very lack luster. They should have put Christina Milan. To finish out the list of crappy entertainers. Shame on you VH1, but I should have Known you were this low!!!!

Melanie Fiona would have been a good choice too. Chrisette Michele, Christina Aguilera & Joss Stone also. Are the choices of entertainers so lack luster that these are all they could fine. Shame and burn in the eternal fire VH1,first those horrible reality shows now this sad excuse for a VH1 Divas. Divas ha! Would not wipe my shoes on them.

As much as I love Ciara and Kelly and am excited to see what they are going to perform, I feel like the list overall is pretty lackluster. If VH1 wants to attract viewers, they should add some bigger names to the bill; especially if this is going to be a tribute to Whitney Houston and Donna Summer. People do not want to see Demi Lovato and Miley up there. It will feel like a Disney reunion.

Clearly, everyone who posted a negative comment cannot read. It clearly says they will be paying tribute to DANCE music and the show overall will be honoring Whitney and Donna, which means they will be performing their DANCE songs… How Will I Know, Dance with Somebody, Bad Girl, Love to Love You etc, or would you rather have Xtina, J. Hud and Adele fat asses standing still singing the same ballads. This will be by from the worst, the 2010 show was the worst. And I can tell a lot ppl who commented have probably only watched the recent shows because VH1 never goes by who is big at the moment because go look at the lineup for the 2002, 2004, 2009 abd 2011 shows.
