Rap-Up.com || Video: ‘Nicki Minaj: My Truth’ [Episode 2]

Nicki Minaj shared more of her journey on the second episode of her E! reality show “Nicki Minaj: My Truth.” The 30-minute episode picked up where she left off last week on the set of “The Boys.”

She meets up with choreographer Laurieann Gibson to rehearse for her “Pink Friday: Reloaded” tour, going over outfits and learning some new moves including one involving a stripper pole. Although Nicki is hesitant to slide down it at first, she eventually gives in.

Lil Wayne makes a cameo when Nicki visits him at The Hit Factory in Miami so he can record his verse for her new song “Hell Yeah” (His verse ended up on “High School”).

She also addresses her infamous feud with fellow “American Idol” judge Mariah Carey. She refuted the comments Mariah told Barbara Walters (“If I had a gun, I would shoot that bitch”) and fired back at “The View” host (“Am I not good enough for you to get my side ’cause I’m a little black girl that raps?”).

“Twenty minutes before that happened, she egged me on,” Nicki told Young Money president Mack Maine. “I stormed off the stage ’cause I didn’t want to do that. I left and when I came back, it was another jab…. She’s admitted that she did not want another female doing the show thinking that somebody was coming to steal her shine.”

The episode ends with her shooting her part for Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire” video at her mansion in Malibu.

People need to listen to her sides of stories cause everyone just believes whatever they read, I think she took it the best she could when it comes to Mariah. Yes it is Mariah Carey but there is no reason for Nicki or anyone to have to take such disrespectful jabs. Nicki was chosen to be in AI as an entertainer and as a public figure, nobody said its because of her singing which everyone seems to bring up whenever AI come up in a conversation. Just respect her hard work cause you really can’t take that away from her.

@Gggrrriiisss, EXACTLY! No one hated on Ellen when she was a judge, same as Britney Spears on X-Factor, who lip-syncs her live shows and doesn’t write her own lyrics like Nicki does. And everyone says Randy Jackson or Simon Cowell etc have their place because ‘they’ve signed successful artists’ …well they can’t sing now and they couldn’t when they started, yet they still judged and signed successful artists…what’s to say Nicki can’t do the same? She knows the industry as well, so she can easily give advice to the contestants towards the end of the competition about the business side of things and how to handle haters because lord knows she has more of those than anyone else in the game .___.
People just like to target her because she’s the knew big thing, we saw the same when Lady GaGa came out and look at her now. Nicki is gonna be running shit for years to come.

I see Nicki’s point about it shouldn’t be cause for concern that she’s on Idol. J. Lo and Paula Abdul weren’t exactly vocal athletes either. It wasn’t a problem when Paula was there during season 1 it shouldn’t be a problem now. Randy and Simon brought vocal critiques and Paula was mainly critiquing performance and presence. I don’t see the issue with American Idol because they aren’t just looking for vocalist their looking for packaged artists. Kelly Clarkson was the packaged pop-rock star, Fantasia was the R&B singer, Ruben Studdard the smooth R&B crooner, Carrie Underwood the pretty country diva.

It’s not soley about vocals. And like it or not even before the costumes and wigs Nicki had a certain degree of presence.

And it’s mainly a ratings ploy anyway. Nobody says anything about Britney Spears being on X-Factor. L.A. Reid isn’t looking for vocalists but superstars. It’s the name of the game.

This was one crazy episode of Nicki Minaj; My Truth, I was glad that she straightened up the rumors about her and Mariah Carey’s fight over American Idol. I also enjoyed seeing Laurieann Gibson on the show, it’s been a while since we’ve seen her on TV. I’m glad my DISH coworker suggested I watch this series, it hasn’t disappointed. I’m never home on Sunday nights though, so I record it on my DISH Hopper. When I played back this episode I was able to start watching on my living room TV and then continue watching on my kitchen TV right where I left off. I can’t wait to see what kinds of shenanigans she gets into on the series finale.
