Rap-Up.com || Rita Ora Opens the MTV EMA

Rita Ora set off sparks during her opening performance at the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards in Frankfurt, Germany. The blonde bombshell, along with Carly Rae Jepsen and fun., kicked off the show with an explosive performance of “R.I.P.” She emerged from the ceiling in a cage wearing a lacy red catsuit and matching sneakers, holding an umbrella as pyro fell from the sky.

Okay. I liked Rita Ora with the whole Red White and Blue thing goin on in RIP.. But now this is like.. Lady Gaga’s lace suit from “Bad Romance”, Rihanna’s “Umbrella”, and Beyonce/Sasha Fierece’s Hairstyle…. She needs to go back to the badass RIP look and re-invent from that!

I loved this opening of the EMA’s and thought Rita Ora did wonderfully. I loved her performance from the outfit to the pyro falling from the stage. I’m glad the EMA’s decided to have her open the show, since this was the first time I’ve ever seen her perform live. My DISH coworker first told me about this award show so I knew I wasn’t going to be missing it. I wasn’t home when it aired so I recorded it on my DISH Hopper. When I played it back I was able to start watching on my living room TV and then continued watching on my kitchen TV right where I left off, with no interruption.
