Rap-Up.com || Nicki Minaj: ‘American Idol’ Keeps Me Disciplined

Nicki Minaj is used to calling the shots, but she’s had to make some adjustments since joining the judges’ panel on “American Idol.” While she’s made headlines for her feud with fellow judge Mariah Carey, it’s the show’s schedule that has proven to be the biggest challenge.

“I’m not really used to having to show up somewhere at a specific time,” Nicki tells “E! News.” “I kinda been my own boss for a few years, so this is like adding discipline back in my life. This is adding that strict regime of having to do something. Everybody’s affected by what I do.”

She also shares advice for her Barbz. “Don’t be lazy. Push yourself even when you feel like you can’t go on.”

The conclusion to her E! reality series, “Nicki Minaj: My Truth,” airs Sunday at 10:30 p.m. She will also perform at the American Music Awards the same night.

@DAMN, Nicki said that she saw the episodes before it was aired. Therefore, she knew how it was edited and since she’s a boss, she could have had it re-edited it.

Nicki is just making excuses now because it backfired. I’m sure that she thought she was coming off as a boss instead of an asshole.

Nicki is successful however she does seem a little arrogant in terms of her wanting to prove to those that came before her that she’s the biggest rap chick that has ever done it, the best that ever was. Which she isn’t. All Nicki’s hard work is to break numbers. When you’re on top you are PAYING to be the boss, but when your a fading memory, who really cares. Just ask those that came before her.
Staying humble is the best position and true fans will help her maintain being humble, not boast in her success and down other artist’s hard work.

@Donny, Obviously if you’re recording your own songs, shooting your own videos, choosing when to go on tour that’s basically being your own boss. All celebrities are their own boss. They don’t have to do what they do, they don’t have to put out new music for their fans unless they want too. We know artist that don’t put out new music for their vans but get offended when people call her lazy and when other artist take her spot. Every thing you read about her now is about her boyfriend that’s why you guys be upset and Minaj fans.
