« Miguel Performs ‘Do You’ on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’Nicki Minaj: ‘American Idol’ Keeps Me Disciplined »Usher, Jennifer Hudson, & Celine Dion Salute Whitney Houston on Grammy Special![]() Some of music and Hollywood’s biggest stars gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of Whitney Houston during the tribute special “We Will Always Love You: A GRAMMY Salute to Whitney Houston,” which aired last night on CBS. The one-hour event featured performances from those Whitney inspired, with presenters including Halle Berry, Britney Spears, Taraji P. Henson, Clive Davis, and LL Cool J. Jennifer Hudson had the audience on its feet with a dance medley of “I’m Every Woman,” “How Will I Know,” and “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me).” Celine Dion paid homage to her fellow diva with one of her personal faves, “The Greatest Love of All.” Usher performed “I Believe in You and Me” from The Preacher’s Wife soundtrack, and CeCe Winans and Yolanda Adams dueted on “Count on Me” as Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina and other members of her family looked on. Plus, the show included footage from the late legend’s first-ever television appearance on “The Merv Griffin Show,” her unforgettable rendition of the national anthem at Super Bowl XXV in 1991, and her iconic performance of “I Will Always Love You” at the 1994 Grammys.

@joey, Celine killed the show? Just goes to show what you don’t know about music. She also is one of the best singers of our time. Whitney would be very proud of her.

I hated J. Hud’s performance. She sings tooooooooooooooo hard and harsh. Just doesn’t do Nippy and her prowess any justice whatsoever. Plus, I was distracted by that blimp on top of her shoulders and her mouth, giving me every bit of Donkey from Shrek. Too much weight loss does that. So cabaret.

R.I.P. to the GREATEST singer of all time!!! I loved the performances from all of the artists, great tribute. Although, I must say I DO NOT trust Pat Houston, something a little fishy about that one.

now ms jennifer hudson where do i begin? don’t get me wrong she can. her voice is very powerful. i give her that but the beauty of whitneys voice is that it was powerful but yet angelic. i hate to hear her cover whitneys music because she sounds a fool! i truly think the only person who comes remotely close doing the best tribute for whitney is MONICA simply because she’s pretty like whitney & her voic is powerful & angelic

I don’t understand why Jennifer Hudson is the go-to girl when it comes to Whitney tributes. Her voice is too overbearing in my opinion. Whitney had a POWERFUL voice with an angelic, clear tone. It was like a bell. Jennifer can be very harsh, sharp, throaty and hard on the ears!
