Rap-Up.com || Dawn Richard Pays Homage to Danity Kane in ‘‘86’ Video

Dawn Richard may be a solo star, but she hasn’t forgotten where she came from. The former Danity Kane member reflects on the past in the short film for “’86.” In the Eugene Lee Yang-directed video (“Wild N’ Faith”), Dawn sports chain armor and a mask as she battles with a warrior in what appears to be some Danity Kane-esque apparitions.

“‘86’ is an homage to my past,” explains Dawn. “Everyone wants to look at the Danity Kane thing as a negative but it’s a positive. The girls have been and continue to be a guiding force in my journey throughout this music business.”

The video is set to debut in the next week, while Dawn’s Christmas EP Whiteout arrives on December 1.

I really, really, really want them to get back together as a group. If they were still together today, I can assure you that they would have been a strong force in the music industry.

@Aimanos, Let me guess, the face mask is Scorpion and Subzero from Mortal Kombat. Y’all kill me with acting like some artists were the originators of some of their clothing selections that more than likely a stylist picked out for them.

I almost wish she’d asked the girls to be in the video… that may have been reaching. lol But I’m so excited for this video! I just watched “WildNFaith” and got amazed all over again so I know ELY is going to make this something beautiful…
