It may be cold outside, but Dawn Richard warms Hearts with her new song “Miles,” one of five cuts off her Christmas EP Whiteout. The fast-paced record was produced and written by Druski, Dawn, and Carla Carter (Usher, Kelly Rowland).
“‘Miles’ is a perfect example of what the ‘Hearts’ can expect from Whiteout,” says Dawn. “Everyone may not get it at first but this is for the diehard Hearts who have been rocking with me from the beginning. This EP is for them.”
Whiteout will be available for purchase on December 1 via iTunes.

Nothing new AT ALL , she talented but all her music sounds the same just like her last EP the whole thing sounded like one long song, I’m not sure if its the beats or her voice o_O

@Redchainsaw, Um. Her EP was supposed to sound like that. Lol man y’all gotta start doing your research. She’s addressed that 1,000,000 times. The Armor On EP told one full story, hence why the songs blended into one another. And name one of her songs that sound like this. What song of hers has this sped up beat pattern with vocals on reverse? I’ll wait…

@Redchainsaw, sweety this a completely different sound than tell tale heart. And the EP her sound is just the same which is what we call a signature! Which is needed!! Especially for artist!

Dawn is like a fine wine. She simply gets progressively better with time just as her unique brand of progressive R&B. In this particular cut, I’m noticing that she’s trying new things vocally and in the best way possible. I can see why some people say her songs sound the same. It’s not that the songs sound the same, it’s her sound that remains consistent. Her music is becoming more and more original with every offering that she gifts. Even Drew’s production is progressing. This movement continues to inspire me on a daily basis. I’ll be buying the Whiteout EP 12/1/12 and Goldenheart 1/15/13. Much love #heartsheaux

@Marquis, Exactly. The songs themselves but Dawn is starting to mold her own lane & sound. If she keeps this up, people will hear a track & say “That’s a Dawn/Drew track!”. Just like people can point out a Darkchild track. Or a Timbaland track. They have their own sound, as well.

@me, yeah your the only one boo. I have a masters in voice. She isn’t flat or short. She is perfectly on key and actually very well trained. Her choice in going in minor is rare for artist which makes her unique and s bit dark. But that’s her sound. She maybe one of our best vocalist. It’s unusual to you because she can change her tone to like 5 different sounds or approaches. It’s just new and innovative. Most artist don’t do that.

I love me some Dawn, A real authentic artist unlike the many gimmicks; ex: Rihanna… The industry needs to push her at the forefront because the jockers are going to steal her originality and make money off of it ex: Kelly Rowland!

Dawn is the origin of the progressive RnB genre. There’s alot of gimmecks out there tryna steal others originality and make it their own. Go ahead and do it. Just remember, you can’t do it like the person who started the move. U can steal a dancers moves, but u can’t take their swagg.
