Jay-Z Goes Back to Brooklyn in ‘Where I’m From’ Documentary

Jay-Z

From 560 State Street to the Barclays Center. Jay-Z takes us along the epic journey to the opening of Brooklyn’s billion-dollar venue in his 24-minute documentary “Where I’m From,” which premiered on Life+Times.

The triumphant trek starts a year ago, leading up to the grand opening of the stadium in Brooklyn, where the Nets now play. Jay rehearses with his band for his eight sold-out shows and rides the subway with his fellow New Yorkers including one unsuspecting lady. It concludes on stage at the new Barclays Center, just steps away from where he grew up.

“Look how far we’ve come,” says Jay while holding Jackie Robinson’s Brooklyn Dodgers jersey. “This has been my finest moment performing.”

The things this guy has accomplished and continues to accomplish. What rapper has this type of longevity and is truly respected in so many different areas by so many different people. Just goes to show what happens when you have a good head on your shoulders and don’t feed into your own ego.
