Fresh off wrapping her tour with Nas and Ms. Lauryn Hill, Jhené Aiko drops the dark video for “Mirrors.” In the Black Swan-inspired clip, the L.A. songstress plays a ballerina who looks at herself and doesn’t like what she sees.
“A glimpse in the mirror to make sure you are still there,” she sings on the KeY Wane-produced ballad.
Expect big things from Aiko in 2013 with the release of her Def Jam debut Souled Out, which features production from No I.D. (Kanye West, Nas), KeY Wane (“Amen”), and the Fisticuffs.
Doooooopeness. I love how she knows her voice and her range so her music fits it so perfectly. It’s really remarkable the way she creates her music and the artistry behind it. It has an ethereal sound but the lyrics are so heavy… She’s a poetic soul and I hope that she’s recognized for it.
Nothing Jhene has released recently has caught my attention. I really liked her when she was with T.U.G doing songs like ‘Dog’, ‘Cherry Pie’, No L.O.V.E’ and ‘Sneaky’. Too bad she never released ‘Her Name Is Jhene’.
Absolutely, amazing. I can’t get enough of her voice. I songs are all meaningful yet addictive. Highers still plays daily at work. @drew you must be 11. The new jhene is 100x better.
Love jhenes talent! True artistry is a gift!. She definitely puts me in my own mellow zone.. Talented, original & sounds the exact same performing live! She’s def definitely someone to watch for in 2013 not to mention she just finished touring with hip hop legends! Can’t wait for this album
