New Music: Aaron Michael Cox – ‘It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year / I’ll Be Home for Christmas’

With the holidays upon us, hitmaking duo Da Internz (Rihanna, Big Sean) remember their late friend, singer-songwriter Aaron Michael Cox, by releasing his covers of the Christmas classics “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”

The 22-year-old, who lost his battle with cancer in July, sings a stripped-down medley that has not been heard until now in its rough form.

“We came across this file of Aaron just messing around at the studio singing ‘It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year’ and ‘I’ll Be Home for Christmas,’” said Kosine, one half of Da Internz. “It’s very raw, just Aaron and his keyboard, and with Christmas coming up, we wanted to share it for anyone else who may have lost someone or is missing someone over the holidays.”

Signed to Da Internz’ label, Cox worked with artists including Nas and Ludacris and had just closed a publishing deal before he passed away.

    He was so talented, it’s a shame that people like this don’t get the proper attention. Now we’ll never know what he couldh’ve been. This is honestly one of the best Christmas songs I’ve heard in the new decade.

    Was like a nephew to me–really missing him especially when
    The family will get together and this year he won’t be here. Can picture him just messing on the keyboard and singing. He was such a great guy.
