Rap-Up.com || Keri Hilson Readies New Album for 2013

Keri Hilson remained relatively quiet this year, but the “Pretty Girl” is set to make her return in 2013. Miss Keri has a new album and movie on the way.

She has been in the studio recording her third LP, the follow-up to her 2010 album No Boys Allowed. “I’m looking to release a new album at some point in 2013,” she told VH1 backstage at “VH1 Divas.”

She is working through the holidays and early next year to finish the project, and hopes to release something in the first quarter of the year.

“My fans have been super patient with me. I took a little break, and I’m back,” said the Atlanta singer-songwriter.

In addition to music, she is set to make her acting debut alongside Vin Diesel in the sci-fi film The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking.

“Acting is just as much a part of the things that inspire me and the things that keep me creatively juicy, just as much as music is. I’d love to have a lasting acting career,” said Keri, who was a theater major in college.

So he’s basically saying that Beyonce almost runs her own type of payola scheme — which is illegal — for all her music. “Hey, I’ll get your song on the radio, but only if you pay me 20% of the publishing.”. Meanwhile the songwriters who worked hard on actually writing the lyrics and arranging the music are unjustly having money they’re entitled to taken out of their pockets and handed over to a woman who already has annual earnings of $87 million (according to Forbes).

Honestly i could see Keri releasing a song like Tamar Braxton’s Love and War. I think she should go more into that direction. Timeless records is what Keri needs in order to stay relevant. I think with her last album she wasnt releasing the right singles. The set up was a bit off.

@True Story, Agree 100%. Tamar Braxton hands down has the best r&b record and song out right now. Its timeless. Music would be so much better now if artists didnt just stick to a trend. Keri can make it back strong with a song like that with her songwriting skills and Polow Da Don’s production i can see her creating a lane for herself. I think Keri still needs to find her niche as an artist i didnt really get it with No Boys Allowed. In A Perfect World was more her style.

Someone placed a battery in her back to diss Bey…. not once… not twice… but THREE times. It’s been DOWNHILL ever since.

Honestly, I think Keri makes 1 good song each year and then tries again but fails. Maybe that’s why she’s a flop. The only good songs I can think of that she did was “Pretty Girl Rock” and “Turning Me On” I think those was released in different years but I ain’t do no research because I really ain’t checkin’ for her. But give her the credit for those one-year-one-hit-wonders. At least people know her name. Lol
