Timbaland Partners with 50 Cent on SMS Audio![]() Timbaland and 50 Cent are teaming up for a new collaboration, but it doesn’t involve music. The super-producer has joined SMS Audio as an investment partner and member of the company’s board of directors.
In his new role, Timbo will be involved in the design and audio engineering process for new SMS Audio products. “50 Cent has created an aspirational audio brand that produces the highest caliber of headphones on the market,” said Timbaland. “I’m looking forward to working with 50 and being part of a company so eager to bring studio-quality sound to music fans all over the world.” The SMS Audio product line includes STREET by 50 wired on-ear headphones, STREET by 50 over-ear wired headphones, STREET by 50 in-ear wired headphones, STREET by 50 wired DJ Pro Performance headphones, and SYNC by 50 over-ear wireless headphones. “As an entrepreneur in the music industry, I have great respect for Timbaland and his evolving role as a producer, artist and influencer,” said 50 Cent, CEO of SMS Audio. “I welcome his expertise and guidance. Timbaland will be a huge asset to the SMS Audio team as we move forward with new and innovative audio products.” Timbaland and 50 have worked together in the past, most notably on 50’s 2007 hit “Ayo Technology” featuring Justin Timberlake. I don’t get what the big deal about headphones is and I NEVER will. I have my normal SONY headphones and they work pretty damn well. First Dre comes out with his Beats and now 50 comes with SMS…
is this what music business is concentrating now? Headphones??
