Rap-Up.com || Fantasia Announces Album Title, Release Date

Fantasia is leaving the drama behind and focusing on the music in 2013. Nearly a decade after making her debut on “American Idol,” the R&B songstress has announced her fourth album.

During an interview with Steve Harvey, she revealed that the project will be titled The Side Effects of You and will arrive on March 13.

The 28-year-old singer has worked mainly with producer Harmony on the follow-up to 2010’s Back to Me. “This time I just wanted to stick with one person so we could have an album that has one sound and everybody’s on the same page,” she explained.

The new music will feature a “rock-soul” sound akin to Tina Turner and James Brown. “It’s my baby ’cause I finally got to write,” said Tasia. “I just wanted so bad to do something like that and I thank the record company, RCA, for allowing me to finally be able to do that on this album.”

She felt a special connection to the first single “Lose to Win,” which was a last-minute addition. “For me, it just wasn’t about a relationship, it was about my whole career,” said Fantasia. “It’s been 10 years for me and there’s been ups, there’s been downs, there’s been people to walk away, so the message was strong for me and I just had to record it.”

I like the single, but I don’t like the description of what her new album will sound like. I honestly think Fantasia should stay in her lane, and do what she’s known for. You know what happens when people stray away from the fanbase they have, they get dropped. RCA will look for any reason to drop her anyway because of her image, and this album just might be that reason. “Back To Me”, was a #1 R&B album…why would you want to completely change the format? She could still write, just write some solid R&B records.

Lose To Win definitely sounds like a Tina Turner song. I will definitely be buying this album. All her albums are flawless and her voice is perfection.

This is an amazing song for Fantasia! If people would just mind their business and listen to the music she would be so much further in her career. Until then, I WILL BE BUYING THIS ALBUM! FANTASIA IS ONE OF THE BEST IN THE INDUSTRY! PERIOD!
