@yo, Exactly. And when I said Robin Thicke was the TRUE representation of blue-eyed soul, people wanted to get mad. JT is an opportunist and only uses r&b music and black people when he wants a hit. Otherwise he’s with white Hollywood with his white wife. Robin Thicke doesn’t just use black people when he needs them, he genuinely loves r&b.

@Ursula, @Ursula, You sound like a pure fool — which, from your prior posts, it’s clear you are. Skin color is irrelevant. Timberlake was singing R&B music before your dumb ass or anyone else know who the fuck Robin Thicke was. And now you’re taking a jab at his wife? LMFAO! So, if he’d married a black woman, you wouldn’t be making these ludicrous comments? Highly doubtful. This doesn’t sound a damn thing like Robin Thicke — this has been Justin’s style of music since FSLS. Thicke and Timberlake shouldn’t even be in the same conversation, especially since one is internationally known and swimming in Grammys. By the way, ignorant coon, MICHAEL MCDONALD is the personification of blue-eyed soul. If you knew a damn thing about REAL MUSIC, you’d know that.

Now you back in the studio AFTER OUR CONSTANT CRIES and after all this anticipation you clearly came back with robin Thicke. Where is Justine Timberlake? It’s not even that it’s a jazzy song. I seriously think this is very strategic. Most of the time when artists like Justin Timberlake or Kanye West or Mariah Carey, etc. come out with “okay” first singles…you are a little disappointed, but at the same time since you have so much loyalty to these type of artists you are ANTICIPATING for the next record.
Controversy (or in this case a not so “hit” record) stirs up more conversation than a “hit” record.
Think about when H.A.M. came out with Kanye and Jay….

It’s lyrical themes were of everyday things: Failed relationships, mixed connections, relationship with friends and family, young adulthood, maintaining balance with growing wealth and fame (popularity), despondency, concerns about leading a hollow life. So Drake’s music is good and his radio singles slay the radio airwaves so he’s good. Future I can’t tolerate his music. I only like Turn Off The Lights because it was overplayed and his features are catchy and radio friendly (Loveeee SOng & Good Kush & Alcohol (B*tches Love Me) )JT brought back that grown man sound. These artist are young and free. Jay and JT been through it and now are married of course it’s going to be a different sound.

JT hasn’t released an album in six years, so I knew there was no way the song would live up to the colossal amount of hype that had been built up for it. It’s an okay song, it’ll probably grow on me. I hope Justin has some better songs than this in the can though. My one real worry about this album is Timbaland is producing the entire thing. Back during Futuresex/Lovesound, Timbo was still on fire, but his beats as of late haven’t really been that good. Crossing my fingers that The 20/20 Experience will be a good album

@Jay, Where have Beyonce been, didn’t she come out with an album two years ago and it didn’t slay. You can’t say that all the black artist didn’t put out any good songs over the past 4 years, not true. Jill Scott, R Kelly, Kem, Usher, Kelly Rowland, Monica, Brandy, Fantasia, Chris Brown, Trey Song, all of them had at least one good R & B song, but didn’t sale, because everyone is into pop music. Justin will sell because he is white. How is Justin saying R& B, when all those superstars above still won’t sell what white Justin will sell. Lets be real.

I like this song, and I applaud him for sticking to his roots, It feels good to hear something DIFFERENT for once in a while.
And I love the fact that he’s working with Timbo again! It’s like he’s starting off from where he left.
And as far as the “Robin Thicke” comparisons go, so what if they sound similar? I highly doubt JT was thinking about Robin when he made this song, people just like to find a reason to b*tch about EVERYTHING!
Listen to his last album, this single sound’s no different from some of the songs on “FutureSex/LoveSounds”.

I went and bought it, personally. This guy is so important to R&B and urban music, especially R&B because that particular genre of music is dying as far as popularity goes. @Cici, I think that’s why. face it. if it doesn’t fit the electro Euro dance pop or the Hood beats, it’s not popular with these people. The song is a refreshing turn away from most of what I hear today. and while it does sound like something robin thicke would sign or something from his first two albums and when he was working with the Black Eyed Peas, it fits his style. He, Jay-Z and Timbo did not disappoint with me

It’s interesting because since Justin’s absence from music, I’ve gotten more accustomed to Robin Thicke and this seems like a song that would fit Robin better than Justin. But then again, they’re two white guys who sing R&B so I guess it could go either way. It’s really not a bad song though!
