Rap-Up.com || Mateo Covers Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Sing About Me’

Mateo has been killing ‘em softly with his acoustic covers and original Christmas songs. Now he takes on Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city cut “Sing About Me” for his cover series of the same name.

The song has been reworked with new verses penned by Mateo and production courtesy of Kerry “Krucial” Brothers and Zeke MacUmber.

In the accompanying black-and-white clip, a dapper Mateo walks through an apartment before heading to the rooftop, where he sings as the city lights shine behind him.

Expect more music from Mateo as he gears up to release the first official single from his upcoming Interscope debut.

I was reading Mateo as Manti Te’o, I was like damn he just got exposed for having a fake girlfriend and now hes doing covers of rap songs?

I would listen to this guy sing the phone book .. his voice is so beautiful. Didn’t like the original, but I’m loving this. Can’t wait for his first single!
